Most DC adapters have settings that jump from 4.5 volts to 6 volts. So if you have an item requiring 5 volts, you are out of luck. The 5 volt item will not operate reliably, if at all, off the 4.5 setting. And, the 6 setting can cause more heating of the item, greatly shorting it's life and could burn the item out completely. This adapter has all the settings and tips needed, as the best adapters do and also has a 5 volt setting. I purchased this knowing nothing about it, as it was the only 5 volt adapter that would have a tips to fit my item. The item has been in use with this adapter for some time now and working fine. Good 5 volt adapter and plenty of tips to fit different items and the size of the tips are in the listing. Would buy this again if another need arose.

Bought it to play my PSone in the car. Set to 7.5V it works great.

Absolute junk, tried it for a 9V,2A load. Voltage drops to under 2V when load is applied. Beware, stay away from this garbage.

Works great, just what I thought I needed to power my DP310 mini projector when camping. Update 8/20/2018: I've discovered that it only provides 2.1 amps when using the lower voltages. According to the manual the following power output choices are available: 3V/2Amp, 4.5V/2Amp, 5V/2Amp, 6V/1.5Amp, 7.5V/1.5Amp, 9V/1.33Amp, or 12V/1Amp. The DP310 projector needs 12V/2.1Amps to power it for playing a movie and this power supply does not provide enough to do that. HOWEVER, it will charge the built in battery in the projector, so it is not all bad. When playing a movie, when the built-in battery runs low, be ready to plug in an external back-up battery with a 2.1amp USB output. Then when done watching, use this adapter to recharge the projector's built-in battery.

Dang, I wish I knew about these things 25- 30 years ago When I got radios or cassette recorders, they never had any DC cords with them and so I only used up lots of batteries and they would run out half way thru a trip and quite expensive to keep buying new ones. Then they had cassette players in newer cars, but after while they broke down. I still use the old time audio book cassettes and players, so now I can use them powered from the car. Yey! You can tell I am an old timey person, but... there are alot of us out there !! :)

I am using this in my wife's vehicle to power a Walkman type CD player (her car doesn't have a CD player like most newer vehicles. So this is an ad-hoc setup using the AUX and a 3.5mm plug connector.) It had the correct adapter power plug for the CD player and the correct voltage setting. So no more using batteries. It comes with a variety of adapter plugs and voltage settings, making it a multi-use power source. I'm happy with it.

I liked that I could choose the output voltage. I liked that there were 8 or so adapters. I did not like that none of the adapters worked properly.
