Generally, I like my things new and modern.However, on this very rare occasion, for this very specific purpose, I was kind of interested in a vintage or retro looking bag. And this one delivers in spades. The leather is headed towards the orange side of brown; which seems very 70s, in a good way. The chrome hardware, and quality silver zippers just looks phenomenal. The leather seems soft and supple, and it feels high quality. When it arrived all the hardware was carefully wrapped; it looks like it was carefully inspected before it left the factory.There is a zip pocket at either end of the bag, another front and back, and another inside. The zippers have a quality feel, like they are not going to jam up or fail soon. The main compartment has a padded divider so you could stash a large tablet or average sized laptop in there.I think this could easily be used as a briefcase or small overnight bag, although my needs were a little different.I travel a lot for business, and I like to have a kit bag inside my suitcase that contains all my essentials. I don't want to root around inside the suitcase, looking for stuff. I want my things all in one place and easy to find. And on the frequent occasions the airlines mangle my suitcase, I want to be able to just grab my go bag from the old case, put it in the new case, keep calm and carry on.My previous go bag was a black messenger bag by Kenneth Cole, and this seems like a serious upgrade. My Kenneth Cole lasted me several years before the zippers started to give out. I guess time will tell how this one compares, but my first impressions are very favorable.
