I don't have any concerns about these tearing while stored in a seat pocket with books, headphones or any other non-sharp objects that might occasionally slide against these bags in either the seat pockets, or a diaper bag. At this point, I was going to say that I was too frugal to "waste" a bag by testing it; however, at less than a dollar/bag and 20 bags/box, I pressed pause on my review and headed for the kitchen. 1 1/2 cups of water and 1/2 cup of white vinegar went into the bag. This product has been a godsend. Unlike other emesis bags, there is no splash back because of the absorbent pad. Also, the absorbent pad masks odors of emesis and allows for much more volume than a typical bag. The ties are secure and the bag can be folded to fit into a pocketbook.
