A temperature study
The media could not be loaded. My conclusions first: 1. The bottom surface of the silicone bowl is a bit too warm for sourdough, but this is only an issue in the very central area. 2. The temperatures inside the sourdough and on the upper surface are just perfect. 3. Even at the highest temperature setting, this heating unit works. So the room temperature in my kitchen is around 64 degrees. I turned the device on, set it to the lowest temperature setting (green). After 10 min the very center of the bottom surface reached 89.6 degrees - a bit too warm and I thought it would kill the sourdough and I was ready to complain about the product. But when I measured the edge of the bottom surface and half way to the edge, The temperatures dropped to 73.2 degrees and 86 degrees. This made me curious to find out what the internal temperature of the sourdough would be.I put the sourdough inside the bowl and waited for 30 minutes. To test whether this unit will kill sourdough I set it to the highest temperature (red). Eventually my test result was that the temperatures of the sourdough was between 72.8 and 74.8 degrees, which is ok.Most importantly, my sourdough became big and fluffy in such a short time. After baking, the taste was delicious. So I would rate this bowl 5 stars.A few minor complaints: 1. It cannot be put into a dish washer. But it is kind of non-stick and cleaning is easy. 2. If I do not use the plastic covers included in the package, I guess the sourdough might dry out.But in general this is a very cool idea and the kit is of high quality. I highly recommend it!

Proofing warmer
I ordered this to help with my fermentation time because my kitchen is on the cooler side. The lowest setting did not seem very warm so I no used one level up. I'd definitely cuts down on the amount of time needed but I found it a little annoying to clean because you have to be careful about the electronics.

Great Sourdough Starter Set
This is a great concept for any bread baker.I'm a sourdough baker, and my starter went bad, so I had to start all over. I bought this a while ago and just now am able to review it.The bread proofs quicker, allowing you to get your baked goods in the oven faster. The real winner in the kit is the proofer. If you bake bread you know how it is to wait for that bread dough to rise. Cutting that time down is a bakers dream. The kit comes with everything that you need to get started. It's a fairly large kit.The items in the kit are built superbly with the feel of a long lasting asset.Everything from the warmer to the tools are very easy to use. There are also really good instructions to get you started. This would be the perfect gift for the beginner bread maker, or a gift for yourself if you are new to sourdough. For what all you get, this has a great value for the money you pay. I'm planning on getting my daughter a kit for her birthday in a couple months.

A great idea, but maybe not quite perfected just yet.
This is a great idea, in theory, but maybe not quite there yet. Having a proofing bowl that can warm your dough is a great idea. No question that this would help in colder times of the year. This one, however, seems to get a little too warm. Yes, it can work on the lowest setting, but you'll find your self wishing it could just be a little cooler most of the time. I found it to be right on the line as far as being good for sourdough.

Perfect kit for beginners
This kit has everything you need if you're just starting with sourdough bread making or baking in general. Heated proofing basket is great for colder winter months where it takes too long for the dough to rise. Included accessories are really what you need for bread baking so no need to look for additional accessories. The proofing basket cleans easily under running hot water with a little bit of dish soap. Just be careful to cover the USB port and ensure you don't get any water in there. Overall great set for beginners.

Helpful
I bake a lot in winter, but unfortunately, my kitchen usually runs about 65F which plays havoc with getting breads to rise. I do bake both sourdough and regular breads and I've found this heated banneton works well for both types of breads. I was concerned that the lowest heat level would be too warm, but I've found that it works well as long as it's the lowest level. I am considering ordering another as a gift for an aspiring baker; I like this heated banneton a lot.

Lowest setting is too warm for our bread recipes
Review for "Ljusved Heated Sourdough Bread Baking Supplies... Silicone Banneton Bread Proofing": This silicone bowl collapses down on itself for flat storage. It has four temperature setting indicated by different colors. When we proof bread, we typically like to use 78-80 degrees F. The lowest setting on this is 86 degrees F. We set it on green (86 degrees) to prewarm the bowl while prepping our dough. After 30 minutes of warming, we tested the temp with a no-touch digital thermometer. The temp was 93 degrees F on the base of the interior bowl. That's too warm for most recipes we use. Additionally, it can't be washed in the dishwasher because of the electric cord, included. A wall adapter to usb is needed and not included. The instructions also list possible uses as a heater pet feeder/waterer or for thawing meat. It could work well for those purposes but I didn't try it in those capacities.
