First, clean the circuit board where the contacts are using Isopropyl alcohol. I also used Iso to clean off the rubber dot, which is usually a conductive carbon substance. Then apply the *carbon* version of this product to the black dot. Cover the whole surface and let it dry completely before re-assembling. **Q: Can this be used to repair a broken strip in a car rear defogger?** A: I just tested a 1/2" long x1/8" wide strip on a piece of pyrex glass and got 0 resistance for that length. It seems to conduct well for a short distance and stuck to the glass very well. I can see it being used for prototyping of low voltage/low current circuits.This particular compound is based on nickel, which is not a as conductive as copper.This pen would work fine for the small repairs like cuts or tears in the existing PCB traces. BTW, there's a more conductive version of this pen which is based on silver.Aside from conductivity issue, there's an issue of securing parts to PCB.
