Not sure why people are complaining about these; not sure what they expected out of 1 inch thick foam. It's thickness is from the flat back to the peak of the ribbing. It's about 1/8 inch thick from the back to the valleys. This stuff is more cosmetic than actually sound deadening. It does work great in conjunction with other, perhaps less attractive, sound material underneath it. I used 3M Super77 to apply it. Worked great.

I packed (2 tiles/square) of these into my bedroom windows at my apartment (the street traffic was driving me crazy!) and it made a huge difference in the amount of street traffic I hear!!! I’m thrilled! I wasn’t sure if it was going to work because so many reviews said it’s not for this kind of use.. but, I figured, sound is sound right? I’m sooooo glad I took the gamble! It’s not completely soundproof of course.. I’ll still hear the occasional loud azz motorcycle every once in a while... but compared to what I was dealing with - the difference is night and day! I am very happy with these - going to get even more for my walls to drown out the outside sounds even more. 🤗 Yayyy!

Not sound proof

This is a good buy for the price but it dose have some problems.They are thin and not super compact so they don't stick well, had to do a lot of work to make it stick properly. But for the price it's good. You get a lot of them and they do work 👍

I put them up in my room to reduce noise into the house. They don’t work that well, they need to be a little thicker. They do work if you're just recording a song or a spoken poem.

Honestly, I was a bit concerned when these arrived so compacted in such a small package. After removing them from the packing and letting them sit out to expand for 48 hours I was relieved to find that not only did they expand fully but there was no damage on any of them. It’s amazing that they can be vacuum sealed into such a small package and when they expand it looks like they were never compacted at all. Also, the pads are a very dense material so they work great. Will definitely buy again if I need more in the future.

Vacuum packed into a small bag. They will expand to 5 times its size. Do remember to let it settle for a day or 2, according to the instructions, before installation.
