A 1550CFM fan kit here is rated at 80W. **Q: How many amps is the switch rated to handle?** A: What Stefan said is really all you need, but to elaborate anyway, the current required to activate the 80-90Ω coil circuit of a 12v auto relay shouldn't be more than 0.15-0.2 amps. This switch can surely handle many times that, but you shouldn't install it directly in a 12v electric fan circuit anyway. Automotive fans may draw 20-40amps which is probably more than you should trust ANY thermoswitch to handle; so use it to activate a 12v automotive relay instead.
