If you're too close and the nozzle is a focused one, you can etch the wood a bit and sometimes it can take the creosote finish off, but generally speaking, it works and has not caused problems. I'd recommend doing it at a little distance so you don't scrub off the finish and/or re-coat with creosote every few years to keep it looking nice. **Q: there are no screw holes in the back panel for the roof to fit on, how can I fit roof on without it?** A: I did not have this problem. The back panel sits in a slot then you screw through it and then attach the roof stays. We haven’t had much rain yet so can’t say about it being weatherproof but I’m definitely going to paint it with garden paint to give it a nicer colour to match the garden.
