The difference between the Rb1280x2A and RB1280X2B is the cable connector. The RB1280X2A has a male connector and a female connector on the exit. It actually replaces HR1234W that is in CP1500AVR. The RB1280X2B has two recessed female connectors. There is also a RB1280X2 which is just the loose batteries the are in the assemblies listed above. I have purchased 5 of the CP1500PFCLCD model UPS over the last 4-5 years, and are beginning to need battery replacements. The two batteries are joined in a unique way, and with a unique recessed connector which makes replacements very specific (unless you want to customize and re-wire the battery connections). It's rather disappointing from CyberPower to cheap out this way. Two 8 amp batteries gives 16 amps vs 18 amps with 9A batteries on the DC side of powering the UPS. Unless you know for sure, you are maxing out 12 .5 amps (1500 watts divided by 120v = 12.5 amps) you'll probably be fine. If you are thinking, my PC has a 1500 watt power supply, so I should get a 1500 watt UPS, it's doubtful your PC is pulling 1500 watts or 12.5 amps continuously. If so, your PC's power supply isn't going to last that long IMHO, and you should be looking at a higher rated UPS. Also, we do not know if the internal circuit design of the UPS is capable of outputting 1500 watts with 8A batteries, if so it would not last quite as long, a few seconds to a few minutes less depending on the load (what you have plugged into it).
