I disagree that it misses, at $29.99 it is a great design and product.
The media could not be loaded. NOTE: I STATE IN THE VIDEO I PAID $19.99, I PAID $29.99 AND IT IS STILL WORTH IT.I am working on some tutorial videos and I was looking for a way to mount my iPad as either a second camera or a primary if I am shooting a video requiring my camera.Looking for in purchase:-Tripod compatible-Sturdy-Value-Well constructedDesign: The design of the Ulanzi is solid and sturdy. It is a heavy-duty metal and the mechanics of it are very simple, it is a sliding rail system limiting the moving parts that could break or “gum” up. The locking system is again a simple screw design limiting what could break within the mount itself. There is a shoe slot, no power to it, that could hold a microphone or a light cube. You can see in the photos my Rode Mic Pro easily works in the mount. And on the bottom, there is a grooved tripod mount plate or a screw hole to attach the tripod mount plate from yours.Issues: I did not feel that the molded tripod plate on the mount itself fit securely or properly, I would have had concern about leaving the iPad on the tripod attached by the molded mount.Positives:++Construction++Design++Price++FeaturesNegatives:--The molded mounting plate did not fit my tripod well (but this is not a reason to dock it as I can attach the tripod plate to the mount)Final Thoughts: An unbelievable product for the iPad that can allow a quick and easy second system (or a primary if needed) for a videographer or photographer. This is really an underrated item.Would I recommend: Absolutely. I put mine to heavy use and it holds up great I have zero issues recommending.

Nice Holder
I needed an iPad holder that would hold an iPad Pro 12.9 inch in a case with the pencil along the edge. Most clamps will not do that. This one did. So far, it seems like it is going to work out well. The construction is very sturdy, and it is minimal and attractive

Works well—but care is needed for iPad Pro models
This is a quality metal product. It works well, and is probably better than all other plastic-based competitor products. Nonetheless, there are some Important limitations/considerations. I own a full size iPad Pro. It is meant for an iPad or iPad Pro (not an iPhone). The mount area is not deep enough to fit an iPad within a case. There is padding within the mount area to grip the iPad, but it isn’t super grippy. It may work fine for smaller iPad models, but feels less secure on the largest iPad Pro models...... Note that for the largest iPad Pro models, it fits only in the narrow dimension (it is too short for the long dimension). The mount location, when holding a iPad, must grip only along the horizontal orientations (on the bottom and top of the iPad, when oriented in upright positions). The iPad could slip out (if the grip location is positioned along the vertical orientation areas of the iPad). The most important thing, is to be aware that the mount area that holds the iPad is not very long (compared to the long sides of an iPad Pro). It does hold the iPad well enough for most situations in vertical positions, but not super firmly. I would use it with caution with an iPad Pro (perhaps include a large rubber band around the iPad and holder, to add security). I would never use it with the iPad Pro in a tilted forward position (unless I used two mounts at the same time with rubber bands around the apparatus).... Although suggesting the use of large rubber bands may seem to imply that this product is lame, I think it is solid and works well for many situations. It is probably the best product of its type at this time. However, it grips only an very limited length along the sides of an iPad Pro. With the largest size iPad Pro models, it isn’t completely secure (and iPad Pros are very expensive and fragile).

Works as stated
I bought this to use my iPad Pro 11” as a camcorder on a tripod. The construction is very strong and holds my iPad very securely. The ARCA style mount worked great with my 25 year old Ambico tripod which has all kinds of adjustments for getting the perfect shots. My only complaint is if you have an Otterbox Defender case on your iPad Pro the jaws on the mount could be a little deeper to secure it better but no big deal. I used it the day I received it to record the local fireworks display from my yard and it worked well. I would definitely recommend it.

Perfect!
I love my iPad, so this attachment allows for me to watch a few things before I drift off to slumberland. It's perfect.

Excellent piece of hardware for iPad Zoom calls
Pro-grade little piece of hardware. I used it for rigging up a stand for my iPad Pro. Easy to slip the iPad in, there’s no annoying clamp with tension like on some consumer units, the jaws are padded, and I don’t even bother to tightened it down as the iPad isn’t going to fall out. Mounted an Apture MC (chargeable cordless LED light) up top.The two most important things to fix for good looking web calls is 1) get the iPad off the desk, and up to eye level, and 2) get an LED pointed at your face. It now looks pretty good.

Great item
Sturdy. Generally easy to adjust, although you’ll need to be a big coordinated is mounting a large table, ie. iPad Pro. You have to hold the Mount tight against the sides of the tablet while you tighten the thumb screw in the back. By no means a deal breaker. Would be better if the clamping sides were spring loaded then locked with the thumb screw.

Can fit an MS Surface Pro 7..if only it was spring loaded
Some pretty cool features: Male 1/4 thread at top, female at the bottom, so you can mount this on a tripod and a camera or microphone. Also has a cold shoe slot for more items. Aluminum build feels sturdy.Only drawback for this item is that the clamp slides upward, but is not springloaded to give some grip to the device you have mounted.I am using it for my Surface Pro 7 and while it is sturdy, the rubber grips don't seem to hold very well, and is not helped by the lack of tension. Some tablet holders I have seen and bought all have some pretty strong spring tension to ensure the device won't just fall off, especially if the mount starts to tilt.Overall however really good for the price.
