Lovely design. I love that the canvas has the picture with the areas very specifically coded with the design right on the canvas in each tiny square you need to place each cross stitch, exactly like needlepoint canvases I did years ago. No counting needed if you follow the printed design. I was a little confused at first because the color coding on the canvas is highly contrasting with the colored threads to be used, but after I read the instructions, which say that after the stitching is completed, you soak it it water for several hours and the dye on the canvas washes away. So for example, you don't see the stark the bright red area through the yellow cross stitches. Just make sure you don't get the canvas wet at any time while working it. Also if you want to do this on blank cross stitch fabric, there is a printed paper allowing you to use that to guide you in counting out the stitches, and they tell you how many threads to use based on the number of squares per inch. If using the provided canvas, based on 11 stitches per inch, it says to use 2 threads. The threads are very conveniently organized all ready for you and looped on a holder by color number. That is great for keeping the colors organized very well. Overall, I'm very impressed with this kit.

I absolutely love hydrangeas, so jumped at the chance to order this beautiful pattern. I’ve had good luck with the disappearing ink stamped pattern, and actually prefer these to the counted cross-stitch as it makes the work easier. This is well-labeled on the fabric itself, but also comes with a full-color chart to reference. The chart is small print so you may prefer a magnifying glass if the print is too small. The embroidery floss is numbered but you might want to label the DMC numbers across: that’s something that helps me when I stitch. This pattern includes a page of instructions on how to cross stitch if that helps you. I find the needles to be on the small side and a bit cheap, but it’s easy and inexpensive to provide my own. Such a great value for this kit, so I don’t mind doing so. If I have any issues with the floss etc. I’ll report back. Highly recommended!
