Sturdy and perfect!
My kids got these beds as a Birthday gift from their Grandparents and Aunt, they had me find a bed that could convert to a bunk bed and one that I thought would suit our needs and the space that we have, so I saw these... I recognized the brand and read the reviews. I saw nothing but great, legitimate reviews. Let me start by saying that I love these beds, my kids love them, everything about them is great. And I will tell you why.... First off, the price of these is great!! Super affordable, I don't think you could find many single beds at this price, let alone two that can be placed as Bunk Beds or two Single beds! As soon as I got the box come I knew that these beds were made of true solid wood.. not that rinky-dink pressed wood that a lot of kids furniture is made of. These things were heavy, which was what I wanted. I needed to know that these would be sturdy enough to hold growing kids, kids who even though we say "No Jumping on the bed" will likely make an attempt or two at actually jumping on the bed! So as soon as I received both boxes (Delivery was a little bit of an issue, but that isn't in regards to the actual bed so I will let that part slide for this review... Just a small tip, if you order this bed, contact amazon and tell them that you'd like this shipment sent TOGETHER, because they will be shipped separately otherwise. This way you will get both boxes at once. As soon as I had told them to do this, we got these beds in about 3 days with our prime shipping.) Anyways, as for the beds... I put them together instantly. I did this by myself since I'm the handy one in the household and thought I would need my husbands help but I managed to do this within 2-2.5 hours total from start to finish and that includes a few breaks and searching for the right screw driver in my closets. They are very straight forward to assemble. And unlike a lot of products, this had no chemical scent, no potent smells that you need to air out. Once they were all together I didn't even hesitate to sit down on them, after assembling them I knew they were just as strong as they felt. I've laid in these beds with my kids, my husband has laid in them and both of us are beyond impressed with them! I love them, we currently have them set up as the photo shows since our kids are 3 & 4, but once they are old enough in a year or two we will put them as bunk beds and I feel that they will be the safest. The guard rails and the ladder are great also (not pictured, as I do not need them until the bed is fully together). Another bonus is they have plenty of storage space in underneath. So, if you are looking for an affordable bed (or two.... or a bunkbed) this is the bed you should purchase. Rest assured, your kids will be safe and I don't think you can beat this price or the quality.

Great bed for a great price!
After a snafu in which I ordered the Amazon Warehouse “Like New” Storkcraft Caribou bunk bed, I was a little worried about trying my luck with this model. To be clear, the bunk beds come in TWO boxes; the smaller, square box contains the headboards and footboards, as well as the necessary hardware to assemble the bed. The long, rectangular box contains the rest of the parts (slats, rails, and ladder pieces). The mixup for me with the Warehouse Deals version was that it only came with one box. Amazon was great with the return, and as soon as I was reimbursed, I bought the NEW Longhorn model from Amazon. After unpacking everything and making sure all the pieces were there (which I actually NEVER do, but considering the size and time it would take to build it, I thought I’d better not chance it), I noticed that all the pieces were clearly labeled with letters, all of which corresponded exactly with the instructions. All of the hardware was likewise sorted into bags, and each bag was labeled. The bed really was a breeze to put together, even for one person. The only time I needed help was lifting the assembled top bunk onto the bottom bunk. The material is solid wood, and once assembled it didn’t feel wobbly at all. I will say that I read some comments on the quality of the bed slats, and while I agree that they’re low-grade and pretty flimsy, ours weren’t splintered at all. Because there are so many slats, the weight should be pretty well distributed. One thing to keep in mind is the space that will be required to assemble both beds: make sure you have enough room for the beds to go side-by-side during assembly and that you have enough space to move around them. The quality of the craftsmanship is great. The pieces look and feel solid, even at the cross-sections no part seemed to be made of pressboard or anything. This adds to the weight of the product, something to keep in mind if you’re lugging the boxes up stairs. The ladder is at an angle, and the rungs are wide enough to be comfortable on bare feet. I like that the angle of the ladder isn’t so wide that it sticks halfway out into the room. Overall, I’m really happy with this purchase, and I’ll update as the bed experiences the wear and tear of little ones.

Super sturdy and great quality for the price
This bunk bed is a must have for anyone on a budget but wanting somthing sturdy and safe it hits all the marks and for the price you can't beat it the dark finish is nice and it took about an hour to set it up definitely recommended this to anyone with lots of kids and the functionality is grest because it can hold ot of weight so even bigger kids can enjoy this for years

some very minor drawbacks, but still a great unit for a great price
Once finished, the bed looks really nice and is extremely sturdy. The slanted ladder is a huge plus compared to the vertical ladders with thin rungs (that hurt your feet) on many other designs. Wish it had been available in a lighter finish to match our boy's existing furniture a bit better, but the high quality and low price still made this an excellent choice for us. My only negative comments would be related to the directions. There's not a word in them - just pictures. For some parts, there is definitely a specific order you need to assemble the components, but the pictures just show them assembled (as if everything goes together simultaneously), so you may have to loosen things up once in a while to fit other parts in, then re-tighten. The labeling of parts is also a bit confusing (the paper shows parts "A1", "A2", "A3", and "A4" - they're virtually identical, but only one of the physical parts has an "A2" sticker on it and you're left to deduce which is which for the remaining parts. This happens in each of the 3 main assembly steps (the "A"s, "B"s and "C"s). It helps to scan ahead to the later pictures to see what attaches where in the later steps so you get the right piece in the right places in the earlier steps. I have a lot of experience putting together kit furniture, so I avoided many of the potential pitfalls, but I could definitely see a less experienced person getting fouled up several times. There also wasn't a single screw left over from the hardware kit. I usually like to see an extra piece of each major type of hardware, just in case one is damaged or left out by accident. There were not shortages, but we needed every single piece in the bag, so it was a bit of a concern as we approached the end. There was also what I'd describe as a "shoe polish" smell that took about a week to dissipate, but not so bad that my child complained about it. It's solid wood (except for the slats, which are plywood and numerous and very sturdy - the foam mattress lays over them very smoothly). The suggested weight limit for the top bunk is 165lbs, but I'm 180lbs and my son is around 55lbs, and we have no problems at all lying in the top bunk reading together each night. Overall, for all the minor inconveniences, it's still a very high quality unit for a very reasonable price. I wouldn't hesitate to get another Stork Craft bed if we ever needed another set of bunks.

OUTSTANDING - Quality, Design, Assembly, and Price
I am always skeptical on every purchase and this was OUTSTANDING, initially the UPS driver was a little rough when unloading the two packages expecting to see some damage, but all items were packaged with styrofoam around the outside to protect everything! Then when it came to assembly, the directions were easy to follow (pro tip: it helps to review first and then always follow the directions) with the Allen wrench included, only needed a Phillips screwdriver, and included exactly one extra fastener if you happen to loose one. With all solid wood parts, and assembled with furniture barrel nuts with proper length bolts and it was extremely SOLID once assembled. The slats were properly spaced with the black strapping and four predrilled holes to proper align the remainder of the predrilled slats with provided screws to attach every slat, which made the bed frame complete and SOLID. (Pro tip: you may notice the barrel nuts on the headboard, but with planning, you can place them on the side you select). You will not see any barrel nut holes on the pics, since they face the back wall.

Great buy for the Kiddos!
This is one of those items I do want to give a shoutout to. I really liked the Build quality and the finishes, assembly was straight forward following the instructions. The fact the this can be converted into 2 twin beds makes this product a high value one. Once finished the frame is solid and gives me the confidence that this wont fall off. Color is as expected and nicely polished. Feels premium. Something to consider improving on a future iteration - Can we also get a small Caddy to place water bottles in case the Kiddos need a sip and don't want to get down. Tried keeping them on the bunk section, but the rails are wide and causes the bottles to fall down.
