It's pretty & functional. I've taken the extended insurance warranty as well. Software could be a little better though. It defects an older version and fails to upgrade or reinstall. Overall a nice piece, might I add - prefect for special occasions.

I bought this as an upgrade from my old 1TB drive, which had finally run out of space. This new 6TB version is a massive improvement – it easily stores all my photos, music, documents, and still has loads of room to grow. The transfer speeds are quick and consistent, and setup was super simple. The built-in backup software and password protection add an extra layer of peace of mind, and the fact that it includes ransomware protection is a huge plus in today’s digital world. On top of all that, the Anniversary Edition design looks sleek and modern – a great balance of style and function. Overall, this drive is great value for the price, and I couldn’t be happier with the purchase. Highly recommended for anyone needing dependable and secure storage in a portable package.

Great for media files.

I wanted a high-speed 5 or 6 TB HDD with included backup software and this 6TB model seemed to be have the best reviews. I don't actually like the colour-scheme of this "Emerald Anniversary" edition but I needed the drive quickly and no other colours were available, plus I keep this out of sight, so I compromised on the colour. The drive comes with a USB-C cable with a USB-C to USB-A adaptor, the file system is supplied as exFAT, which is fine for me so I didn't need to reformat. The drive contains a file with a link to downloading and installing the Acronis True Image software (for Windows or Mac), which is licensed for 5 years - it is this software which I have found to be the best reason for buying this drive and makes backing up so easy and flexible, e.g.: - schedules can be created - different backup methods are available (e.g. incremental, differential) - I use the "version chain scheme" which is a combination of full/incremental backups and automatically deletes versions older than 1 month, which should mean that I don't need to worry about manually purging old backups to free up space - you can also backup external drives connected to your PC, not just the internal drives So I am very pleased with this HDD so far - as a backup drive/software combo, it meets my needs completely. Price was reasonable too, and a reputable brand. Highly recommended.

Do not buy, stopped working after 9 months . The wires & port are flimsy so don't connect properly.

So far so good. Easy to use and fast enough for me as back up drive. Nice design but not on show so kind of superfluous. Hope it lasts as long as previous WD drives

This is a great value drive with usb c on both sides and a usb c to A adaptor in case you need it. It comes with 5 years of back up software subscription. Which I had to use a few weeks after buying the drive. Totally unrelated problems to the drive however it worked and brought my system back perfectly.

I received my package within 3 days! The disk is really light, small and the green really stands out!

Western Digital toujours le meilleur en disque dur externe au format 2.5 Pouces, rentre souvent en veille sur mon PC, silencieux & performant si la chaine de branchement est bien 100% non bridé sur canal USB-C! Ont rappelle les règles d'usage des disques dur, ont le pose sur une surface stable & ensuite ont le branche, & surtout ont ne le manipule pas en fonctionnent!!! PS: j'ai prix un câble USB de 2 Mètres c'est quand même plus pratique de le poser en sécurité!!!

Uno de los pocos discos duros de este tipo que hay de 6Gb. El tamaño de la unidad es estandard, aunque un poco más grueso que mi anterior Toshiba. La velocidad es la esperada para un disco rotativo. Incluye una licencia de 5 años para hacer imagenes completas de otros discos duros. No incluye un manual de uso, pero lo primero que tienes que hacer para disfrutar de sus ventajas de seguridad es instalar un archivo que viene dentro al abrirlo por primera vez. Este programa te permite gestionar la contraseña, bloquear la unidad e instalar otras aplicaciones, incluso puedes desactivar el led exterior. Una vez tienes el discoduro bloqueado, lo que pasará es que cuando lo conectes no podrás ver su contenido, en cambio, te dejará ver un programa ejecutable para que introduzcas la contraseña de desbloqueo, aunque si ya tienes el programa instalado en el ordenador no te hará falta ejecutarlo. En general el disco es silencioso pero si quieres que lo sea aun más puedes ponerlo sobre una almoadilla de ratón o similar para que no se transmita la vibración al escritorio. Esta edición especial tiene un embellecedor de aluminio en la parte superior. El resto es plástico que se ve un poco barato, pero creo que es lo mejor porque el aluminio se raya con facilidad, de hecho me planteo ponerle algun tipo de cobertura protectora al aluminio. Producto recomendado.
