I bought the Dove Intensive Repair shampoo and conditioner after seeing it recommended in the Abbey Yung method for incorporating some protein into a hair routine. For context, my hair has been through a lot. It was bleached to platinum for quite a while and I’ve since dyed it back to my natural color because I’m currently on a “back to healthy hair” journey. Unfortunately during the bleaching process I ended up dealing with protein overload for almost an entire year while my stylist had me consistently using Olaplex to try to offset the damage. Because of that experience, I’ve had to become very careful about how much protein my hair gets. Compared to Olaplex, this shampoo and conditioner do feel more gentle in terms of protein, which I appreciate. I actually like having it on hand for the rare times when I do a stretch test and my hair clearly could use a little extra protein. However, my hair unfortunately cannot tolerate using this very often. If I use it more than once in a row it makes my hair feel extremely dry, which tells me my hair generally needs hydration much more than protein at this stage. Because of that I only reach for this about once a month or even less, depending on how my hair feels. My husband however actually loves it. His hair has never been chemically treated and is completely natural, and it seems to work really well for him without any dryness. That makes me think this product is probably much better suited for hair that hasn’t been heavily processed or is in need of protein more regularly. If your hair is sensitive to protein or already somewhat overloaded, it might not be the best everyday option.

I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of this shampoo/conditioner set. These were the first products that I actually noticed any difference with my hair after using. The shampoo lathered well and the conditioner didn't feel too thick or thin while using. I also noticed a visual shine on my hair after using for a few weeks! I will say that it dries out the hair a little so I have to use more conditioner than usual, but still very much worth it.

My daughters and I take our hair care pretty seriously and we love this shampoo and conditioner. It doesn’t leave our thin hair greasy. It is clean l, lightweight and smells good.

Llegaron bien, tengo rato buscando un shampoo, lo vi entre los recomendados de Abbey Young, tengo poquito usándolo, siento que huele rico y me ha ayudado a tener el cabello suavecito.

Complio mis expectativas

Este shampoo no viene con sello de seguridad, lo cual me llamó un poco la atención. Por otro lado, el aroma es muy agradable desde el primer uso. El tamaño es pequeño, así que espero que rinda bien y que realmente ayude a reparar el cabello con el uso constante. Hasta ahora, la primera impresión es buena y queda pendiente ver los resultados a largo plazo.
