You get what you pay for.
You get what you pay for. The screens for set-up are a jumbled mess. The firmware is three years old with no update. The ATSC 1 channels finally appeared after four channel scans but were displaying in a 4:3 aspect ratio. The ATSC 3.0 channels never displayed although the channel guide did display them as available after the fourth scan. After 2 hours of messing around trying to get it to work, I gave up and sent it back. Just not worth my headaches.

Ordered Too Early - Should Have Waited
I received this January 30. Set up and functions went great. That's the good news. When viewing 3.0 broadcast after 10 minutes I can see lip sync issues. At 15 to 20 minutes the picture freezes and jerks. I did the restart, factory reset and checked for updates to no avail. I have no issues with 1.0 broadcast. So I now have an overly expensive 1.0 tuner. I would wait for later versions Ah, the rest button on the bottom of the box does nothing as well.

need to update to view drm
The built in app update did not update the hdtv app. DRM channels was not working. Had to download the apk to do the update. Hopefully this one doesn't keep crashing and rebooting like the other one I returned.

GTMEDIA HDTV Converter is an interesting device
I have played with the GTMEDIA HDTV Converter and find it to be a very nice device. So far, I have only been able to receive ATSC 1.0 signals because there are no ATSC 3.0 signals on the air in this area. But when one does come on the air I will have a receiver for it. The converter is non the less, a useful device because it can record signals off the air and it has a well-done TV guide. It is running as an ap on an Android platform, so some Android features are available. Overall, I like it.

Not Ready for Primetime
Unfortunately, I had to send mine back. One of my ATSC 3.0 channels has 3 subchannels, all of which are streamed, and nothing I could do will bring them in. The signal level meter was anywhere from 9-14dB off (compared with my $400 signal level meter). Often, when I would enter a channel on the remote, it would lock onto the new channel then revert back to the one I was trying to tune from. Most of the ATSC 1.0 channels in my area are 1080i (main channel), yet the X1 indicated they were broadcasting in 1080p. The 720p channels would indicate correctly, while the 480i channels would show as 480p. The recordings were just file names that consisted of the date and time of the recording -- no suggestion as to what it was. Updating the HDTV player was a breeze, but nothing I would do let me update the firmware. After 2 or 3 days, though, it told me there was a firmware update available. I do really like that it would record different streams that were on the same RF channel, though. And, especially, the remote with numbered buttons.

Atsc 3.0 works great. The apps do not work.
The tuner works great, but the apps do not. Every time I try to watch something on sling or prime it runs very slow and then gives an error message.
