Woah
Another review on here complained of stiff back drag. I agree. I cut 3 coils off of the spring and that seems to have solved the issue. Note, this operation was fairly time consuming as this tiny ratchet is frustrating to put back together. It is a sealed ratchet, so you must hold the bearing down and then pass the selector switch through the body and then put the pawl in (more involved than an old craftsman, and way tighter tollerances). After this mod = a fine ratchet

Very nice ratchet I just wish it had a few more ...
Very nice ratchet I just wish it had a few more teeth but it has a very small head which is a plus and a super thin handle could be a plus or minus but since it's a 1/4 inch I think a thin handle is best

Decent tools
These are ok. They’re industrial versions of SnapOn, but they look every bit of industrial: unpolished and unrefined. They work flawlessly, but if you think you’re buying SnapOn quality for 1/3 - 1/2 the price, you really arent.

USA made snap on quality ratchet!!!
Snap on quality without the price! Industrial finish is nice. It is even! And smooth with a slight grip. Looks just like snap on but with williams on back. Action is super smooth. I would buy more.Did I mention that it's USA MADE!!!!!

STUPID STIFF BACK-DRAG RUINS AN OTHERWISE EXCELLENT TOOL
IDK what the other reviewers are talking about. I got this and the chrome flex-head version, and the back-drag on theseis crazy stiff. Worst I've ever seen, and that REALLY limits it's usefulness in all the situations you'd need a 1/4' ratchet for.in the first place. In every other way the action is nice and the tool is beautifully made, but what was JH Williams thinkingwhen they put such a stupid stiff spring in the ratcheting mechanism? Unless the ones I got are irregulars or something,JHW took a perfectly fine tool and made a mess of it. Bummer, I had high hopes for these things. I hate to say it, butunless you know how to rebuild & modify ratchets, you better have all knurled sockets and extensions, or at the very leasta ratchet spinner, to use these.

Great little ratchet
Great little ratchet! American made! Not as smooth as my Snap on, but it's built with the same exact quality at a fraction of snap on.

Williams 1/4 Drive Round Head Ratchet .
Great little ratchet with typical USA made Williams quality . I used this to replace a SK Tools ratchet that was 40 years old and getting a little tired ( used daily for 40 Years ) . Removing the circlip and disassembling the ratchet revealed no lube inside . Applying some very light grease and a few drop of oil into the pawl assembly improved the action smoothness dramatically after this was done . Note that the description is inaccurate this is not a dual pawl ratchet and it does not have 72 teeth . The 72 tooth is the pear head version ! I think I counted 45 teeth . I believe the current model round head ratchet does have a dual pawl head effectively making that version a 90 tooth ratchet ! I must have gotten older stock but this is still a great deal for the price .
