Good on chicken and pork
Hello friends, I selected this Ari's all-purpose marinating BBQ dry rub mix for cooking. This dry rub mix has a lot of seasonings that would be used in Asian BBQ. It has ginger, clove, Bay leaf, garlic, and nutmeg. Something I don't typically see is white pepper and thyme. Thyme really likes chicken so I decided to use this rub on a rack of pork ribs and chicken wings. The pork ribs turned out pretty darn good. Finger looking good. It's a perfect base for pork. The chicken wings were okay. I added a little honey and it made them better. It's a pretty good seasoning. I'll end up using it up over time.

Tasty seasoning
This review is for the marinating pouch, which contains an all-purpose seasoning mix. There is no full ingredient list on the pouch so I can only go by what is listed online, but it's a complex blend of flavors. It tastes low on salt and very mild (for those who don't like spicy), so you can rub it on quite heavily just like it says. This is a Nigerian-style seasoning, so it has a somewhat distinct flavor to it (not sure what it is but it's quite savory) but otherwise very similar to popular meat seasonings/rubs. It's a large pouch, so I think it's a good value for seasoning, will work with a lot of dishes, such as meat, fish, potatoes, and roasted or grilled veggies, and the savory taste will appeal to most people. Update: I've been using this spice blend as my all-purpose seasoning ever since I got it (put some in a shaker for ease of use) and it's been going fast. It really does work with everything.

no ingredient lable on package
It took me a while to discover how this product could be sold in the US without having a list of ingredients printed on the package. I did find out that the unusual flavor of this blend is likely to be characteristic of Nigerian cooking. The vendor page lists some ingredients but it doesn't help me understand what is creating the flavor that is unfamiliar to me. Is it the “groundnut powder," maybe some type of pepper, or something else they are not disclosing? What we see in the vendor listing is apparently allowed to be only a partial list of ingredients. What really surprised me is that the actual package I received has no ingredient list at all. I even carefully peeled off the barcode label and it’s not under there either. From my research it looks like that might be because it is "white labeled" packaged for them by a third party that's certified to sell in the US, so the ingredients may therefore not be required on the package because it's a blend. I have no interest in copying their secret recipe but I would like to know what else is in it in case I have a reaction to it. Especially now, when so many people in the US have allergies it’s more responsible for a company to list all the ingredient on the package so that no unfortunate incidents occur from ingesting peanuts or other allergens.

Large, Resealable Bag • Tasty All-Purpose Mix
So far, I’ve used this Ari’s All-Purpose Marinating and Dry Rub Mix on grilled pork chops, chicken breast, and veggies; this well-balanced blend of spices gave each dish a very tasty and robust explosion of flavor. I really like that it comes in a resealable bag and how it contains only 100% organic ingredients. However, I’m not a fan of the bag not listing the ingredient list; thankfully, as someone who has no food allergies, I can consume this without any issues, but for those who do have food allergies, this would be a concern. Overall, I’m very pleased with the quality and flavor of this mix; the large, 6 ounce bag will last me quite some time.

No ingredients listed
It seems like an okay product, but there is no ingredients list. How? Just how do you not include all ingredients when people have allergies? It's very frustrating.

Good on ribs
I added this as a dry rubs to my ribs this evening. We all loved the taste it added to the meat. Wish this came in an air tight jar instead of a package. Next I will use as a marinade and vacuum seal it with the meat and see how well it works that way.

Quality rub good for any meat, fish, or poultry
This rub has a nice combination of flavors. It doesn't have a prominent flavor. That's what makes it a good all-around choice to have on hand. I tried it on chicken and was very happy with the results. The drippings made excellent gravy too. I want to try it with baked potatoes (cover the potato with olive oil, sprinkle with seasoning, and cover in aluminum foil before baking or grilling them). Please note this rub contains nutmeg. Nutmeg is dangerous for dogs, so if you use this, don't share any table scrapes with Fido!

Great Seasoning ***CAUTION - CONTAINS PEANUTS WHICH AREN'T LISTED***
Ordered September 2024 - There is no best by date This come is a foil lined plastic bag that you tear open and then reseal with the built in zipper. The bag doesn't list ingredients or allergens and this is a problem as the Amazon page does list ingredients and it includes peanuts, which is a common allergen. Another issue is the description on the bag says it includes some spices including black pepper. However, black pepper isn't listed on the Amazon page, so there's a serious question as to what's really in this. Ok, so how's it taste. I put it on salmon and cooked it up. It was quite good. There was some sweetness to it, a bit of salt and then a bit of heat. I wonder did the sweetness come from the peanuts or is there added sugar that's not listed.?
