The electric fence charger unit is built well .It is made of heavy duty components and includes a spool of cable. The directions are excellent. I did not use it as a fence charger, I used it to protect my bird feeder from the depredation of a pair of racoons. The feeder is one of the type with a built in wi fi camera. I tried everything including multiple baffles on the pole. Squirrels are bad enough but raccoons are tough. I used the fence charger to electrify the pole. The raccoons would not be harmed, I tested the shock on myself, it was uncomfortable but not harmful. It worked! The racoons no longer steal the feed from the feeder. Birds cannot be harmed as they aren't grounded. I actually saw birds land on the charged wire without any effect.

This electric fence energizer 120 volt a/c plug so it's best for you to have an outlet handy. The application for this is perfect for keeping predators out and your livestock safe. Easy installation and really has many functionality for moving it to a different location (with an a/c outlet). It is reasonably priced and great value for your money. Sturdy and will hold up to the weather. The power of the device will do up to five miles of electric fencing. One star off because of the need for an a/c outlet in a convenient place.

I originally intended this electric fencer as a backup to my 33-year-old fencer which is still going strong. But at 33 years old you never know when it's going to just no longer work. This fencer arrived in a nice box. It's a small compact unit and the instructions that it came with are easy to understand. It even included 4 screws for mounting which is a nice plus. Mine came with a small roll of aluminum wire. It's a nice unit that I have now decided to use around my chicken and geese area to keep the local fox and coyotes discouraged from coming up where my hens and geese spend most of their time. The indicator light shows up well and it works as it's supposed to.

During the election season I had several incidents where people came on to my property and stole the yardsigns in my yard. Next election, my political signs will be electrified. This unit packs a wallop

Have a number of paddocks that have 5-strand wiring for my alpacas, and although I have a nice, heavy-duty charger currently running, we do get some severe storms every once in a while where I worry about lightning strikes taking it out. If that were to happen, then I have no way to keep pests out of my paddocks (not worried about them escaping, but other pests entering. Having this will be a great relief, knowing that I can keep my herds safe immediately.
