Shutter Anchors That Work
I just completed a 26 shutter project where I removed the shutters, painted them twice , and finally reinstalled them. I used two different brand shutter anchors and these ones were by far better than the first bag I used. The reason I liked these ones, is that they were stiffer and didn't bend if they were not going in perfectly into the drilled shutter holes making them easier to install. I'm happy to share some shutter tips to make the job a little easier for you... I removed the shutters with an oscillating tool and cut off the button head of the shutter lock, removed the shutters, and then cut back what was left of the shutter screw and then took a screwdriver and poked them through into the siding. I found trying to remove these anchors was impossible without doing potential damage to the siding. When you take your shutters off make sure to number them on the backside so that way when you reinstall them you know that your #1 and #2 shutter will align with the existing holes on your first window...and so on. I did my front shutters on a ladder and on the backside of the house I removed the windows and hung out the window sitting on the sill and I found it far easier and actually safer than walking up and down on a twenty foot ladder. I also found it very helpful to use a screwdriver the same size of your drilled holes and while your holding the shutter in place take your screwdriver and push it through the shutter and into the house hole. This will not only allow for better alignment but will also give you an idea the trajectory of the hole because I found that not all my drilled holes were dead on straight.. I only mention this is because once you put these anchors into the shutter and if they don't enter perfectly into the siding or brick you will have a very difficult time removing these back out of the shutter and most likely will have to cut it off and start over. A rubber mallet is the best way to drive these anchors through. While your making shutters look great, take some time to clean up the window sills and this will also make for a great time to get those windows sparkling clean. For that I used a bucket of hot water and some Lestoil, cleaner degreaser, along with a magic eraser and now my vinyl window sills look brand new. For streak free windows, mix half distilled water with half white vinegar apply with sprayer and wipe down with a microfiber towel and then hit the final dry with a cotton towel.. you now have great looking shutters and windows so bright that will blind the neighbors. For anyone who is doing a home painting project like I just did, might I suggest Sherwin Williams Weather Shield. This paint is incredible for any outdoor project .. glides on thick and effortlessly and the coverage is unmatched. I painted my garage doors and shutters black and Sherwin Williams Tricorn Black is a beautiful classy looking black.. I chose semi gloss for added durability and easier cleaning. Anyway, these shutter anchors are terrific and went in effortlessly...hope these tips help and stay safe with your home projects.

Good, but could be more durable or higher quality
Good for the cost but they aren't real sturdy. I bought these to replace the older weathered ones, but quite a few snapped before being fully installed
