Wpro"WHIRLPOOL" Water Filter, Plastic, Blue, 276 g

BEWARE if you're buying this as a potential replacement for original part number 481281729632 in a Whirlpool double fronted fridge freezer, with the filter mounted in the base of the freezer unit, front loading. I purchased this filter as a cheaper option to the original Whirlpool filter and after one month noticed a pool of water below the front of my fridge. When I pulled the fridge forward away from the wall it was evident that water had been leaking for some time, running backwards and soaking up into the skirting board. I removed the filter and saw that there was a lot of water within the filter housing of the fridge, so I suspected this was the source of the leak.I've now replaced the filter with an original Whirlpool part (at a higher price tag) and there is absolutely no leakage. Although the two filters look very similar there is a definite difference in the shape of the neck below the end nozzle and I suspect that this is the problem with my particular fridge freezer. Considering the filter lasts about a year the higher price tag is definitely well worth paying to avoid potential kitchen flooding and floor or wall damage.
