Does the job for a low price.
These are rather cheaply made basic products that re hard to get excited about, but it does exactly what it is supposed to do. This item was lower priced than similar choices with a different brand name but the two appear to be identical. I don't use a chainsaw all that much but was concerned that I was adding to my work by not sharpening the chain frequently enough so this accessory is a cheap way to make sharpening in the field easier and safer. If anyone is thinking of asking in the product question section, no, you do not want to use this with the saw running

good basic tool
basic product that performed well. It is inexpensive and does the job of holding chainsaw bar stable in the woods. Inevitably, the teeth on the bar will dull- either from wear, you forgot to sharpen before you went into the woods, or you hit something you shouldn't. this vise is easily knocked into a downed tree and the clamp secures the bar well. Use it near the tip of your bar (depending on length) to stabilize one end/ the end is stabilized by weight of motor.

Best Tool IN THE WORLD for Sharpening a Chainsaw! Know of Nothing Better.
Who knew what a huge difference something so small and seemingly insignificant could make in the process of sharpening a chainsaw chain. Having sharpened chains literally hundreds of times, it makes me feel stupid and silly not to have known about this tool, eg a Stump Vise. What a mooroon! Just glad that @ the wise old age of 58 I FINALLY do know about this great tool. I plan to use it every time I sharpen my saws for the rest of my life and tell all my friends and neighbors until I forgots whats a chainsaw is and does!!!!!

Good Inexpensive Alternative
A little awkward to use, but I am still on a learning curve and I am using it for a Stihl 661--which is big bear. I can say it is quite nifty to use for my two smaller chainsaws as sometimes we get close to finishing a job and need to file the chain to finish the job. And that means I don't have to head back home and come out the next day to finish up.

Same Exact "Stump Vise" As The Others
Works great. I got this so I could stabilize my saw while I hand sharpen it. Usually on the tailgate of my truck. A substantial base would be nice, instead of the two points, but I'm sure when the time comes to sharpen saws out in the bush it will come in extremely handy. Save your hard earned money and buy this instead of brand logo vises. The fancy paint jobs won't make them hold any better.

Nothing no better than to be able to sharpen your chain in ...
this is the bomb as my kids say. Nothing no better than to be able to sharpen your chain in the feild just as you could at home in the vise. IT IS VERY STABLE, I have recommended this to all the guys that I help cut and bust wood with. They also love it. They have always wondered how I cut more wood with a sligthly smaller saw than they. They finally found out my secret of keeping my saw sharp.

this is not good. To this end
It's okay. Made in China...It does do what it was intended to do; hold your saw blade. My biggest grip is the bolt is hard to turn. You need a pair of pliers to turn it. In the field, this is not good. To this end, it would help if the end of the bolt; the part you turn, had a handle on it for ease of turning. Otherwise, it does work helping me sharper the chainsaw while in the field.

Great item
Saves a lot of time. Well worth the investment. Oregon also sells the exact same item--except theirs is red---and Oregon's is 3 times the price. I use both and the Timber Tuff is equal in all respects. I will but it again if this one ever wears out.

Good product for the price
Works ok but will come lose very easily and requires you to move it to a different piece of wood after every use.Try to minimize the forward /backward motion and it will stay strong longer.Overall good product for the price

Seems to do the job
I'm no professional woodsman , but it seemed to do the job it was supposed to. For the price I can't find a flaw ( well maybe if it was bright orange or red so you can find it easier when it gets dropped ).
