These use universal metric/US hose connector sizes that should fit either or (I'm using them on US sized threads). I bought two sets of these to go on various hoses, pressure washer, sprayers, sprinklers, virtually every watering device and hose I have has these connected on it. It makes it incredibly simple to switch devices on the hose without having to shut off the water. For the past 6 months I have heavily used all of them and none have leaked at the quick connector or the screw fittings! You can pick up a set of o-ring from harbor freight or buy the proper ones from Gardena to replace the quick connectors if they fail (haven't had any issues yet). You can also try to oil them to bring them back to life, especially if you've left it out over winter. These seem really durable. I have had these on hoses and sprayers that have dropped on pavement and not broken off. I've had several cheaper hose fittings that either started leaking within the first year or broke apart the first time they touched pavement. I expect these to last many years without needing replacement. Had a slight issue when I ordered one of the packages was missing one of the female quick connect fittings from the box - Amazon quickly replaced though. Otherwise these are quality connectors that I will continue to stick with Gardena from now on.

I don't know if a pro might find the metal ends better. For a homeowner I have never had a problem with these. They are completely watertight, they are very easy to install, they are very easy to operate. I first bought them in the UK around 1990 and used them for linking sections of hose at the barn where we kept our horses. Later I used them round the house too. There are others that look the same and are compatible, but I have found these to be the best quality. The big advantage for me, over the metal ones, is that they don't cause or suffer galvanic corrosion. Even between two apparently brass fittings I got fast corrosion. Worse when I used brass on a high quality hose with aluminum ends. As soon as I noticed that I went looking for the connectors I used in the UK and here we are. Highly recommended.

Only four stars because I think the product is overpriced. Otherwise I'm delighted because it's just so slick. Similar connectors in the past were not this tight, secure and easy. Almost no drip as you snap in and out ... I expect it will be durable as well. If the price were a little more reasonable they could (and should) flood the world with these (but not the parts you don't want flooded).

I've tried other brands but I'll keep coming back to Gardenia. They seem to work better, excellent fit/seal and are more durable than other brands. It's hard to find them with the water shut off valve built into them. Great price.

The parts work as stated. I like them better than.the Melnor version. I use these to replace the cheap metal connectors at the big blue and orange box store. I love the fact that when to disconnect a connector from it water doesn't spray all over the place. They are a bit costly but I have tried many version and these hold up very well. Make sure that during the cold season you remove them to avoid damage to due leftover water that can freeze and crack product over time. They need to lower the price.

Quality thing

This is a great product! Here is a complete kit to get you started with quick connect use. It contains everything you need to quick connect your hose to the faucet, and to quick connect two devices to the hose. The description doesn't mention it - but the hose end quick connect adapter has a valve which stops water when you disconnect whatever you have attached. This allows you to change devices on the hose end without having to turn off the water! I found these items to be completely leak proof when tightened firmly. The best news is these fittings are all compatible with the Ames Tru Temper cassette hose reel systems! UPDATE ONE YEAR LATER: Every single fitting (faucet and device fittings) has broken. Some due to obvious abuse, being sheared right off - and some perhaps not so abused yet still showing hairline cracks that leak water. The problem is the fittings are made from plastic - it breaks, cracks etc. Meanwhile I have brass fittings that are compatible with the quick connect/disconnect hose ends. I wish I could find more of the brass fittings - they are impervious to normal garden wear and tear.

Have used these for years and you can trust there quality. Makes things easy and simple.
