I bought some 1/16" stainless steel braided wire rope to make a clothesline. On each end I needed to make a loop, which I wanted to secure with friction clamps (the same kind that come with this cutter). Every time I cut the wire, it would fray and I wasn't able to slide the cable into the friction clamp. I tried all of my sharpest cutters, but the cable still frayed. I tried for hours; it was no use. So I ordered these cutters and used them today. The cut was smooth, perfect, and NO FRAYING! I did in 5 minutes what I previously spent hours trying to do. Bonus: these are amazing at cutting cable ties. I have several more projects to do with the wire rope so these cutters will get plenty of use, but honestly even if this was a one-time project I would still buy these. They make the job SO MUCH EASIER.

These cutters are pretty good, especially for cutting the cable seals a lot of food packing companies like to put on refrigerated trailers. Killer deal for the price. I've had to loan them to other drivers at shippers and receivers who didn't have a set of their own and immediately pointed them to this product here on Amazon. The only real complaint that I have about them is the catch that's supposed to hold them closed is very weak and can break its tip off of so to hold them closed, I've been using a piece of steel wire around the handles which is what they should have manufactured onto it in the first place.

These work as well as my expensive Felco cutters. I'm happy.

In a simple way, this cut my 1/16th aircraft wire for my project. But, 3 big issues. First, the blades aren't curved so it crushes the wire in the cutting process, causing the ends to fray. That makes it difficult to get through the crimps and easy to get through your skin. Second, the spring that spreads the jaws isn't attached to the actually cutters in any way and just sits there based on pressure. Mine fell out after the third cut. I put it back in, it fell back out. I gave up. Third, while they don't claim this so I don't deduct stars for it, this isn't a crimper. If you're going to buy a tool specifically for wire cutting, I'd expect it to crimp too. It doesn't. I returned it as I didn't see any value in this vs my plain ol' cutters I use for electric wires.
