While replacing all of our bath towels in Oct., 2015, five brands of towels, all highly rated on Amazon were purchased. Not being able to see or feel the towels firsthand was problematic-others’ reviews played a big part in the choices made. “Thick and luxurious” is an individual viewpoint. Overall, all five brands fit this description. All are soft, reasonably thick, and absorbent. All were initially washed in the same way: Step 1, Warm water with one cup of vinegar, nothing else, no drying them yet; Step 2, Warm water using half the normal amount of soap, one fourth cup vinegar in the softener dispenser, and an extra rinse. They were dried on low heat in 15 minute increments, cleaning out the lint trap every 15 minutes until dry. New towels lint--period, just like most leaves on trees eventually fall off the tree. Address it on the first few dryings, much less lint later!; Step 3, Final wash of warm water, half the normal amount of soap, one fourth cup vinegar in the softener dispenser, and an extra rinse. They were dried on low heat in 20 minute increments, cleaning out the lint trap every 20 minutes until dry. All are now washed in hot water with a small amount of bleach crystals to sanitize thrown in the tub, 2/3 the normal amount of laundry detergent, one fourth cup vinegar in the softener dispenser, and dried on low heat. No vinegar smell persists, and all are still soft and absorbent. There is NO excessive lint. My reviews and ratings- *5 STARS. Pinzon 820-Gram Luxury Cotton Hand and Bath Towels, White; Soft and smooth, tightly woven, VERY thick towels. Put the bath towels out for my husband, they are too heavy and cumbersome for me. Cannot get my ears dried out! The hand towels are a nice 20” by 30” size. They both take very long to dry, so I tend not to use the hand towel very often. No pulled threads or unraveling seams after almost four months of constant use. *5 STARS. Turkish Luxury Hotel & Spa (Salbakos) Bath and Hand Towel- 100% Genuine Cotton from Turkey - 700gsm Organic Eco-Friendly, White, Sold by: American Linen; (Similar to the LUNASIDUS Bergamo, Luxury Hotel / Spa towels) Soft, thick and fluffy towels. A daily go-to towel bath towel for my use. Didn’t get washcloths in this brand, but did get their hand towels. The 16” by 30” hand towels are now 15” by 28 ½”, still a reasonable hand towel size. I initially thought the hand towels did not feel as thick as the bath towels. I sent an inquiry through Amazon, and received a reply that someone would get back to me within 24 hours. Never heard from them! But, they seem fine now. Just wish the hand towel was 18” by 30”, it would be just about perfect and worth a little more money. No pulled threads or unraveling seams after almost four months of constant use. *4 STARS. Superior 900 Gram Egyptian Cotton (6-Piece Towel Set), White, Superior. Soft and smooth, tightly woven, VERY thick towels. Again, my husband gets this bath towel. I donated the 2 washcloths, they are just too thick for practical use. Generously sized hand towels, 20” by 30”, but again, they take SOO long to dry that they’re not used very often. One side seam on one bath towel is unraveling, and I am not even going to try to sew this extremely thick towel-going to the rag bin. No pulled threads after almost four months of constant use. *4 STARS. LUNASIDUS Bergamo, Luxury Hotel / Spa Washcloths, Bath and Hand Towels, 100 Percent Turkish Cotton, White; (Similar to the Turkish Luxury Hotel & Spa (Salbakos) towels and washcloths) Soft, thick and fluffy towels. A daily go-to towel bath towel for my use. The wash cloths are thick, but can still be used to wash your ears. These towels and wash cloths ALL have a large, synthetic fabric label, PLUS a paper type label, and both labels are irritating on your skin. Finally just cut them both off. The hand towels that started out as 16” by 30” have shrunk down to 13 ½’ by 26”, they’re bordering on too small. One of the 6 hand towels has a pulled thread in the middle of the towel about 2 inches long. *4 STARS. Fecido Deluxe Hotel & Spa Extremely Absorbent 100% Cotton 4-Piece Towel Set, White Bath, Hand, Fingertip Towels and Washcloths; Soft and fluffy towels, a little thinner than the other four brands., but still absorbent. They are a very brilliant white compared to the other four brands. One end seam on the HUGE (39” X 19” hand towel!) unraveled, but Fecido responded promptly. I just kept the towel since I’d already sewed it up the seam. After four months, the two winners are the two brands that have not had any issues-Pinzon by Amazon and Turkish Luxury Hotel & Spa (Salbakos) from American Linen. 820 grams is just two thick a towel for my personal preference, and takes too long to dry, but my husband likes them. And after four months, I would probably purchase nothing but these two brands, so my husband can have the heavier towels and I get what works for me. I’ve attached a few pictures showing various sizes on the hand towels, a ripped seam, a hanging thread, and the thickness of the bath towels.. Overall, sight unseen, quality bath towels. Depending on your budget and personal preferences, I’d recommend any of these 5 brands of towels. UPDATE, 3-29-2017: A year and a half later, my ratings still stand (but American Linen is now American Pillow Case). Their "Turkish Luxury Hotel and Spa Collection (Salbakos) is still my favorite, and my husband likes the thicker Pinzon 820 Gram Luxury Cotton Bath Towel. They have both held up extremely well, dry you off very well, and are comfortably soft. STILL wish they made an 18" or 20" by 30" inch hand towel! There is no fraying or loose threads on either brands. Both the Superior 900 Gram towel and the Lunasidus Bergamo have developed a few more loose threads, but overall still intact and OK. Towels are a costly investment-glad to have shared my experience with other shoppers and know most people have found this review helpful.

I really like these towels; I've purchased bath towels, hand towels, and washcloths. I don't like velvety towels that don't really absorb water, but I also don't want rough towels. I don't want thicker towels than I need, but I also don't want thin, cheap towels. These are a good compromise; they're absorbent, soft enough to be comfortable, and thick enough to do the job and feel good. I've had them now for about a year, have laundered them weekly, and the color hasn't faded. They haven't shrunk at all; I hate cheap towels that shrink in the decorative, flat area near the ends. These don't do that; the washcloths are still perfectly clear. There's a lot of lint in the first couple of washes, but after that, they're normal.

I waited to review these towels. I wanted to put them through many washes. I purchased white but noticed reviews had inconsistent dye problems. That does not surprise me, as the price is low. I was worried the white may not be consistent either and may yellow early. My towels are all uniform in brightness. I only use oxyclean on them and non chlorine detergent. My towels felt very soft upon opening but seemed like they may not stay fluffy and thick for a long time. I have had these for two months now and washed them at least eight times. They are still soft, have not shown signs of shrinkage and the pile is still full. In the past, over seven years ago, I purchased fluffy hotel quality expensive towels from a department store; those are still heavier and fuller than these, but have, over time, lost their bright white look. These towels will not last nearly as long, I am sure, but they work well for the price. I am happy with my purchase. You get what you pay for and these are a great value. They are soft and feel comfortable.

Solid quality

The towels are very absorbent and soft. I was a little skeptical when I purchased them, I was afraid that they would be very thin and non-absorbent. However, I am VERY pleasantly surprised, they are very absorbent and the length is perfect for a bath towel. With other towels that I have used in the past after drying myself the towel is moist, but my body is moist also. And this has been with just about every towel that I have purchased. I just got used to this and figured that this was the "new" normal. However, with these SALBAKOS Turkish towels the towel is wet after I dried myself which means the towel removed all the moisture from my body and I am completely dry. Yet, all I had to do was to hang the towel on a hanger and after a few hours, inside the garage, the towel was also completely dry. We have not washed the towels yet, we just got them, but based on other reviews that I read, they only get better, WOW! Bottom line, I LOVE these towels and I'll be purchasing at least one more set very soon. SELLER> Please don't raise the price :-).

How I rate: 1 star-don't like at all, 2 stars-it's ok (meh), 3 stars-impressed (I like it), 4 stars-pretty darn good (I love this), 5 stars-wow (indispensable in my life) Got these towels in the sea foam green color. They were almost a color match to existing towels I already owned. They washed well the first time (before use). Though the weight of the towel felt a little on the lighter side, the towel dried me off fairly well. Felt ok on the skin-not too soft (like microfiber towels) and not too rough. I was impressed this towel dried fairly well after being used for just being hung on a towel hook-not even a towel bar. How well? Took a shower late evening apprx 11pm, and early next morning at around 5 am it was bone dry. While performance of how quickly the towel dries impressed me, the color fastness of the towel was a total let down. After the second use, I discovered the next morning there where two bleached spots on the towel. What?! How did this happen?! Only thing I can think of is when I wrapped it around my head that maybe MAYBE the color dyes that were used for this towel did not like my particular shampoo? And whatever residual traces of shampoo was left in my hair bleached the towel? Because the two spots line up perfectly if I were to wrap it around my head again. This has only happened a few other times with the cheap towels I get from the stores (for like $4 for $5 bucks). At this price point (at over $11/per towel), I expected this to perform a whole lot better (be a little heavier, be softer, not get bleached from just shampoo residue). So while the speed of how quickly the towel dries after being used is nice, it's not enough for me to repurchase these towels. Photos of: towel brand, how it looks before wash, after being washed/dried before use (cotton loops became just a little coarser), and bleached areas of towel after only the second use to show it's not colorfast.

Soft & warm and easy to wash

I have owned a lot of towels in my lifetime and Salbakos Turkish cotton towels win by a mile! The colors are bright and, best of all, they do not fade. I know because I have now owned my aqua-colored salbakos towels for 9 months, washing them every other week. Aqua is a great color to go with cream or beige. We bought them to set off the cream-colored paint and tawny-colored Santa Cecilia granite counters In our bathrooms. About a week before I purchased these, we bought some premium brand (Nautica) turquoise towels for my husband's bathroom. Sadly, those have faded and shed fibers with every washing and are now quite a pathetic pale shade as well as being pretty thin. In contrast, the Salbakos towels remain thick and thirsty, yet they dry faster than you might think, even in Hawaiian humidity. They have stayed big and fat - very little loss of fiber, even though I always wash them in hot water and dry them on high heat. I also appreciate the very generous pricing and the liberal number of towels they include in each package (ordered separately): 4 bath towels, 6 hand towels, and 12 washcloths. I purchased the aqua washcloths and the colors are a perfect match. On a lark, I bought the bright yellow hand towels. Like Van Gogh, I love the way that colors opposite to one another on the color wheel accentuate each other. However, the minor problem with buying contrasting colors, it's best not to wash them together. I recommend Salbakos towels wholeheartedly. Who knows if I shall live long enough to need to replace these towels, but if I do, Salbakos is the brand I will buy! May you and your loved ones live long and prosper.

As advertised

While the look and feel is good, the Threads fall /separate and stick to Face/ body while wiping. This is even after 3 washes. I am not sure how many washes are required before this can be used. unhappy with this buy.

Do not recommend. Not as advertised. Hardly a dish towel.

４枚セットを、到着後すぐ水洗いしたところ、ひどい色落ちが発生しました。驚くほど、青いすすぎ水へと色が出たので。他の洗濯物があった場合は、青色に染まったでしょう。結構な青色でしたので。今時珍しいな、と感じる程の色落ち度合いでした。青色しか買っていないので、他の色は大丈夫なのか心配です。それ以外は、本当に良い商品(肌触り良い)なので、残念で仕方がないです。
