I was leery on these tattoo numbing creams. I did my research and wondered if any would even work beyond an hour or two. I am working on a 20+ hour sleeve and some of the spots are pretty killer, so I wanted to try it out. Why feel it, if you don't have to, the result of the tattoo is the real goal. I bought this cream because it said it lasted 8 hours and was 6.5% lidocaine. The price was very fair, and I figured I'd give it a try. Man, was I surprised. I covered my arm from wrist to elbow and covered it with Saran wrap, then did my hand and didn't cover it. My arm was completely numb for 8 hours, just like they said, but my hands was half numb, which was fine but the wrapping is definitely necessary. This product is amazing for it's value. If you're looking for a numbing cream that works, this is the best one out there! Even my tattoo artist said she was surprised at the longevity that it worked because most only last 2 hours and then fade away.

The key is preparation to most out of cream. Shave area and I took hot shower with water hitting area to be tattooed. As hot as I could take it to open pores in skin. Get out of shower, dry off, and apply as directed.At tattoo shop, my artist cut off plastic wrap and wiped off excess extra cream. Needle hit my skin and first hour completely numb. Next two hours only felt vibration of tattoo gun.After 3 hours, slowly wore off and used another brand numbing spray. Finished tattoo after 7 hours and only stopped couple times for few minutes.

I had used Ebanel 5% Lidocaine Topical Numbing which I also bought on Amazon and had a wonderful Tattoo experience. I came across this product. It had way more positive reviews also said that it lasted longer, so I assumed it would be even better. I unfortunately was sadly mistaken. It came on super thick, just kind of sat on my skin did not feel any numbing at all because of this product not working my second session was a long painful seven hour tattoo session! I now re-ordered the original tattoo numbing cream I used -Ebanel 5% Lidocaine Topical Numbing I’m sticking with this and swear by it.!

The only reason the cream started to wear off was because my artist was literally yapping for an hour. Definitely didn't last 6 hours, more like 3.5 MAYBE 4. Also if you're doing a large piece, maybe like a whole arm or back, definitely buy more than 1 bottle. I pretty much ran through the entire thing on just my lower neck.
