Appears to be sturdy
I had bought a different grabbing device for my son for Christmas as he and his sons often play disc golf and it’s hard to get to the discs sometimes in the brush. When I was with my son a few weeks ago playing disc golf, I made a really bad play and my son went to get it for me. I asked, where is the retriever I got you and he said it got broke. Soooo, since he really did like it and used it, I bought this one to replace it. It appears to be made a little stronger … hope I’m right. I’ll update my review after he’s had a chance to use it for a while.

Used the big one for years
This has been a great product for us where we might have had to crawl through a half basement to grab a wire or in angled attic ceiling unable to crawl to the edge. The only thing I am disappointed in for the last 20 years is no improvement "beefing up" the brass threads that hold the Z Tip. Both of our others still have an old bent coat hangar taped on the last section for a hook.

Good Pull Rod
I've run cabling professionally for more than a decade, and I do like this wire fishing rod. Not a huge fan of the hooks, especially the Z hook. I handed a co-worker my new rod with the Z hook installed and he did what it says what you not supposed to do. It was closed too fast and the Z hook installed, and it put a slit in the second of the smallest pole lengths, which I wrapped in electrical tape to fix. Unless its a very open ceiling and a short pull, I don't use it to push a cable(s). I often use it across steel rafters or in a cable tray, and tape cables to the smaller end, and use it to pull a cable along. I just don't trust the friction lock of the sections to hold when pushing when there is heavy resistance.I do love how small this rod packs down to; I can easily pack it in my rolling tool chest unlike the longer screw together push/pull rods out their.

Works great for disc golf.
I use this tool when playing disc golf. Great for getting discs out of the water and down from trees. I’ve recovered many discs using this tool. It’s a little long in its collapsed state to carry on my bag but it’s worth it. I did replace the plastic/rubber 4inch cap with a rubber stopper which makes it a little smaller. I do not have any experience using it for its intended purpose. The ability to screw attachments onto the end is great because it comes with a hook that makes it easy to get the disc out of water and to create you own attachments such as a clamp.

Great frustration saver
Worked fantastic for pushing and pulling cable in ceiling. Using with other glow sticks allowed VERY long gaps (almost 12 feet) to be bridged from over 8 feet away. Cleared bathrooms with solid ceiling easily. Highly recommended. Rigid, light weight and easily extended and collapsed. Z tip is a great attachment.

What an EXCELLENT TOOL!
I installed security cameras in a ranch style building and I ran CAT 5e cable through the attic but I could not retrieve wire in the attic and route it to it's final destination. With the Grabbit tool, it just took a couple of seconds and I got the job done. This is a must have tool for alarm and cable tv installers.
