I recently picked up the Wahl USA Stainless Steel Lithium Ion 2.0+ Beard Trimmer, and I have to say, it’s been a game-changer for my grooming routine. Was looking forward to using this beard trimmer by Wahl and I haven't been disappointed as of yet. Even though it was the most expensive beard trimmer I have ever purchased, it has definitely been worth it thought. Great value for the money and the cut quality has been fantastic so far. The convenience factor of it being cordless and it lasting very long between charges is extremely helpful, and the ease of use is a piece of cake anyone can do it.

I've used a Phillips trimmer before and you can feel the difference. It's well built, solid and sturdy, it's a pity it can't withstand water. It's not heavy, it's easy to hold so weight is well distributed. Chrome material can get scratched and show evidence of long term use, but this is common, charger is quite small and doesn't take up much space. I was impressed by fast charging speed and the battery life, it also has a mode to lock power on during travel. Its strongest point is the quality of the cut because you can feel the precision I was impressed with the smooth and tidy shave, also the machine running noise is not loud, I have used other trimmers that got that problem and it is annoying close to the ear. It also comes with a lot of attachments that are easy to install, even nose trimmer and it's an all in one machine because it can even be used for hair. I like that it comes in a storage bag where all the attachments fit and can easily be taken on a trip. However, I would have liked it to include more guides for beard longer shaves.

This is an impressive little grooming unit. I appreciate its comfortable feel, how easy it is to clean, and the accuracy of its cuts. A definite plus is the included accessories, especially the ear and nose trimmer, which I find very useful. I've also found it to be quite effective for precisely touching up my eyebrows. The rechargeable battery provides a good amount of usage, lasting for a couple of weeks before needing a recharge. However, I did want to mention that the life of the Lithium Battery was just over 2 years. One important thing to note is that once the battery eventually dies, you cannot simply plug it into the recharger and continue to use it as a corded shaver; unfortunately, the battery must be replaced. I encountered some difficulty finding the correct replacement battery directly on Amazon and ultimately had to purchase it from Bigupgadgets.com. The specific battery I needed was identified as a "Battery for Wahl 93836-200, p/n# 93836-200." Please be aware that the installation process requires soldering the battery leads.

I love this shaver, but what's not to love. It's a Wahl, stainless stell, holds a charge for a long time, the attachments quickly snap on and off easily with no issues. the blades are sharp and have held their edge for years, it's highly functional and comes with it's own carrying bag and small bit of oil for the blades. Very good shaver for the price.

The Wahl website states "At Wahl, we take pride in providing the best service to our customers. We are here to help with any questions, thoughts or concerns you might have. Whether you have a product question, interested in attending an educational class or have any great ideas, our team is here to help." NOPE. The trimmer is fine. The guard accessory I use twice weekly crumbled in my fingers in a matter of months (see photo). This is a first, after decades of using Wahl products. I made the mistake of emailing, and then calling to follow up on the email, Wahl directly to look into a possible no-charge replacement for the plastic guard and had the misfortune of speaking with the most unprofessional, genuinely rude representatives of any company I have ever contacted. I will not state her name here. She spoke over me repeatedly, snapping at me that she could not access an email sent earlier(?!) through their customer service contact page and repeating over and over again that parts do not last forever, need to be replaced from time to time, and that I could order a new set of accessories for $7.99 either through her or at the Wahl website. The item is clearly defective as shown in the photo, as it is unnatural for plastic to crumble and disintegrate in only a matter of months when used, cleaned and stored properly after minimal use for under one year and there was no interest at all in learning more about what is clearly a defective product. Any client-facing professional and reputable retail manufacturer/seller would want to learn more about an issue like this as a means of post-purchase quality control. Instead, I was scolded and shut down and there was ZERO interest in learning anything about my experience and about the accessory that failed. This failed, overtly rude customer service unprofessional did not want to listen to me or even consider replacing the accessories (one or all) at no consumer cost simply as a good faith measure. So, NO, WAHL, you are NOT here to help. Your customer service is unacceptably rude, unprofessional, and hostile. Today you lost a customer of over 3 decades not because of a lousy 8 dollar bag of accessories, but for the astonishingly hostile "service" you provided to a loyal client.

Feels sturdy and expensive for the price tag. Very easy to use and feels good in your hand. Very powerful and the battery lasts a very long time.

I'm on my third Wahl Stainless Steel Trimmer. That says it all. I love these trimmers, but they don't last. The same thing always defeats them: water corrodes the switch. The first one was within warranty, and Wahl replaced it free of charge; the second was out of warranty, and Wahl offered to fix it for twenty dollars, but I couldn't go to work looking like a caveman, so I bought another out of pocket. Why not give up on them? To my mind, they are just too good otherwise. The trimmer has a beautiful shape, which fits my hand and my face. It has a heft that you don't find in most appliances these days. The finish is gorgeous—it sits right next to my safety razor and my shaving bowl. The battery lasts forever on a single charge. The attachments are excellent. But most of all, I simply enjoy using it. Perhaps I'll try to be a bit more careful. Wipe it down after shaving with oil. Probably not. Probably in six years I'll buy another one. But the trimming between now and then will be right, and that is enough.

I've tried many beard and grooming related products, but there are only two electric devices that are staples of my toolbox: the Wahl Balding Trimmer (for the closest cropped scalp available) and this beautiful beast of a trimmer. The fact that I chose both independently for their performance and quality, yet both are Wahl is not lost on me. Who's higher-end lines are renown for their quality builds and druable high-performing motors, and adding a lithium Ion battery to the mix doesn't change that. The LI Plus is simply a superior trimmer. Performance is excellent, battery life and charge speed are well above average, and it will hold a charge with (almost daily use) across 10 days. The kit itself provides a great deal of range in terms of guards, which are all Wahl standard guards. The only downside is that the included Dopp bag is basically worthless in terms of quality- one of VERY few disappointments in this buy. Quality is fantastic, and the build has very few weaknesses- the handle's stainless finish can be a bit slick if your hands are wet, and there have been a few instances where I tried to remove the guard, and took the blade with it- and those are minor overall. The stand and charger fit easily in my dopp kit, but the stand isn't required for charging, so leave it at home while travelling. Is there anything that could be improved upon? Yes- the charger is a custom-ended piece, which means if you lose or forget your charging cord, finding a replacement will be difficult- I would LOVE to see Wahl outfit this with a USB-C ending, which, combined with a light knurl of the handle, would make this trimmer just about perfect. All-in-all, the Wahl Lithium Ion Plus beard trimmer is one of the best trimmers on the market. This is a staple of my personal grooming kit, and is considered an essential for me. Highly recommend.
