The difference between the models is primarily the shape or material of the handle, and the woven density of the fabric; they are sold here within a relatively narrow range of prices by different sellers. Given the similarities, I selected this brand since its positive reviews had received a higher grade of reliability than those of similar models from a third-party analyzing fake product reviews.The umbrella is distributed under the 2016-trademark brand HH Hofnen and sold by Yongjie headwear, which has been selling this brand on the Amazon US marketplace since that year. Unlike what the first picture on top of this page shows for black umbrellas, the one I received does not have a tie closure of Velcro, but a 1/2" copper snap press button with a design shown in my first attached picture; this button design is found in umbrellas made by at least two different Chinese manufacturers with OEM and ODM services, one of which is shown in the inset of the image.The handle is 3.75" and, when opened, the shaft is 22" for a total length of 25.75". The canopy measures 45.7" along its arc; its diameter from one tip to the opposite one is 39.8". The canopy fabric is described as pongee polyester (a medium-weight polyester with fine regular warp but irregular weft, and a higher thread count than usual polyester) with a 210T weave density. Descriptors like 190T or 210T refer to the number of warps and wefts per sq. inch, with the common 190T considered as a minimum density for a reliable canopy. Although most of the canopy's thread attachments to the ribs were at the proper place (my second figure, left-side panels), at least two of them were not (blue circles on the right-side panels) putting some stress on the fabric when the umbrella is opened.The end of the umbrella has a black-plastic disk finial with the same design as that of the tie's snap metal button. For my hand size (men's L-size gloves), the handle feels a bit small. Its press button triggering the auto-O&C function requires more than casual pressure to work; it might be difficult to operate by people with articular problems in the thumb or with little strength. Pressing this button to close the canopy folds it --shaking off much of the water on it-- but does not shorten the shaft's length, which has to be done by pressing the end by hand or against a surface.I bought it to keep it in my car (in a fitting space on the floor between the seat and the door) in addition to the usual large golf umbrella in the trunk. Its design is particularly good to get in or out of cars without getting much wet, especially when getting back into the car since the umbrella shakes its accumulated water upon auto-closing and can then easily and quickly be placed upside down on a floor mat with little dripping on other surfaces. So far I have not encountered problems when using it. Its materials --pongee polyester 210T, fiberglass ribs, and non-trivial steel shaft-- predict at first sight an acceptably useful life with reasonable care (if the noted stress points on the canopy were not to damage it), so I am giving it a good rating subject to revision with further use. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars pretty darn good *by W***A on Reviewed in the United States on August 10, 2021* Honestly i've never had a "Solid" umbrella or even knew something like that existed but this pretty good has a button that shoots the umbrella out and opens it and if you press it again it closes up which is pretty cool if you get a strong gust of wind out of nowhere that'll usually turn your umbrella upside down or downside up i should say all in all i was pretty impressed by it and its got a good grip at the handle which is really good for kids. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Did a Good Job *by J***B on Reviewed in the United States on January 19, 2019* I used this during the California teacher’s strike where it rained and stormed for 4 days in a row. We were outside from 7am until 3pm in the rain, so it was put through a good test. It is a good size, not to heavy, and the handle has finger indentations. It’s a nice red color, not too bright. I did feel an occasional drop from the inside, probably where the wires connect to the fabric, but it wasn’t all the time. It kept me dry. You push the button, it pops out and opens up. When you want to close it, you push the button and it closes, BUT you have to push it down and back into the handle and it takes a little force. That was the only thing I didn’t like too much. For the price, it’s good quality. Has a strap, and kept me dry.
