Sunday Suppers: Simple, Delicious Menus for Family Gatherings

I have long been a fan of Cynthia Graubart. Her straight-forward, delicious approach at sharing Southern cuisine with others is never more evident in Sunday Suppers.The selection of recipes, grouped into menus, is effective and appreciated. The dishes are truly inspiring to host family and friends for a long, leisurely celebration of good food and good living.Sunday Suppers is a book I've already gifted to others, and will continue to do so. This cookbook has a different approach in that it presents recipes based on menus. What is spectacular is that there is a picture for every recipe. This is something that I require of any new cookbook I use. Years ago, there were very few pictures of what you were 'creating' from cookbooks; but in today's world, pictures are easy (although I'm sure expensive) to produce, print and include. It took over three weeks to get it, but it is worth the wait. Love this cookbook!

I really liked how the book was set up. The menu format was very helpful and enticing with all the delicious recipes that were offered. Of course you can mix and match, but as I perused the recipes I saw the infinite possibilities for family dinners! I got one for both of my adult daughters and we are now having regular family dinners!

I expected the book to be chock full of Sunday supper staples but it tries to get fancy by separating the cookbook into sections with 3 different Sunday recipes, and so on and so on. Just give me your best fried chicken or meatloaf or chicken and dumplings type recipes and leave all the foo foo out of it

The book I ordered arrived slightly damaged. Seller contacted me right away and offered to send a free replacement copy and let me keep the damaged one too. The book arrived in great condition. Highly recommend this seller. They will definitely make it right. I also highly recommend this cook book. It has lots of great recipes, and every recipe has a picture. It's done in a very nice, colorful format.

I've only had this book for two days and have tried 5 of the recipes which were all wonderful. I like how the menu is put together for you but of course you don't have to follow it. I did because I liked the combinations and wanted to try something new. Whether you are an experienced cook or a new one, this book has a lot to offer. The Sunday supper memories past and present are fun to read as well.
