Spectacular battles
First off, WOW....Norihiro Yagi really shows us what he's made of when it comes to the artwork in this book. The battle and actions scenes and BEYOND AMAZING!! How he's able to make characters move so fluidly and with such realism I'll never understand. The three-part battle between Galatea, Agath and Miata had me gripped, and I now love Galatea so much more! She's got to be one of the coolest Claymores in the book. You also learn about Priscilla and Isley's first encounter, and the art in this again, is brilliantly inked. I have to be honest though, I know Priscilla was emotionally disturbed after the death of her family, but she was never such an irritating baby. Over the years (in the manga) she has become annoyingly childish and I'm not sure if I like this so much. Finally there is a short story which goes back to Clare's past when she was training to become a Claymore. Nothing really that special. At least you learn about how she gets short hair.Whilst the final part of the book is not the strongest, it is a nice and simple way of ending the volume.

Three way battle in Rabona
The fourteenth volume of the `Claymore' manga sees Clarice and Miata searching for the missing Galatea in the Holy City of Rabona. After getting some help from some old friends of Clare they discover their target only for an unwanted interruption to get in their way. This is another extremely entertaining volume of `Claymore' which again has some very nice battles and nicely shows that the soldiers of Rabona have learned a trick or two since Clare fought a Yoma there. It is good to see Galatea again in this volume and Miata again shows just how powerful she can be. This volume also includes a couple more bonus flashback chapters with the first showing Pricilla and Isley's first meeting and the second showing the final test that Clare underwent to become a Claymore. Of these two extra chapters the Pricilla/Isley one is the best as it shows just how powerful the Pricilla can be.

Return to Rabona
Fourteenth volume of Claymore, a manga comic series that tells of a world where humans live in fear of demon like creatures. The only ones who can stop them are the Claymores, women who are human monster hybrids. This is not a good jumping on point. New readers should start with volume one. And those who have only seen the anime should start with volume eleven. This one follows the usual format for the series, in that it is an A5 sized volume of black and white art which you read in the usual manga style or right to left. It's divided into six chapters. Four continue the main story. And as with the last volume, the last two chapters fill in past incidents from the back stories of various main characters. In this case how Priscilla first met Isley, and how Clare got on when she training to be a Claymore. The main story in this volume picks up where things left off last time in the plotline about Clarice and Miata, as the Young Claymore and her unstable charge enter the city of Rabona on the hunt for the target of their mission. The city was seen once before, much earlier in the story. And it's a place that doesn't welcome Claymores. But how will the residents fare when danger strikes? This one like many volumes in the story does consist of long battle scenes. They could feel overfamiliar. But they are some of the best seen so far, as they are superbly atmospheric, and feature unforgettable moments of human bravery and fraility. Everything arises out of character actions, and all this makes for a superb and gripping read.A stunning cliffhanger only adds to that. All of which makes this one of the best volumes in the series so far.The two aforementioned extra chapters are a great bonus to go with the superb first four.

It's Claymore....
It's Claymore and if you are looking to read this "volume 14", then I assume you have read 1-13 and thought they were as brilliant as I did, enough to look at volume 14. Need I say more?
