Shrimp love them, so do fish and snails
These seem a bit pricey, but I was curious and bought some for my shrimp. Within seconds my shrimp gravitated towards the lollipop! Then my apple snail and catfish came to it. Even my guppies wanted some of the algae stick!

Shrimp love them and everyone else does too!
I bought these for my shrimp and they go crazy for them, but the funniest part is how much the other fish love them too. My honey gourami, Otocinclus, and Corydoras are always trying to sneak in and steal the food even when I offer their own. My mystery snails even climbs right up the stick like it is a little snack pole made just for them. The sticks are easy to place in the substrate and they stay upright well so all the shrimp (and others) can gather and graze. They also last a while which keeps everyone busy and gives me some great viewing time. These are a fun treat that brings a lot of activity to my tanks.

Great Product, but received empty envelope
My shrimp love this stuff, but the most recent order was just a sealed bubble mailer with nothing inside-- no product, no packing slip, no damage to the envelope, NADA. This was a first for me! Amazon says they're replacing it, so fingers crossed I guess! (I do think it's a bit overpriced compared to other similar items-- it would be five stars if they knocked a few bucks off the top)

The algae sticks are a clear favorite
I started with the mixed pack and after testing them in 4 of my shrimp tanks, the algae lollies were the ones that they consistently favored. I'm sure shrimp enjoy all of the flavors, but the algae sticks just attract neocaridina shrimp like magnets. If I put one in my RCS tank (my biggest colony at the moment) there will be at least 15 of shrimp on the stick within 10 minutes. Sometimes I catch them crawling over each other to find a spot to eat. My most recent tank is full of juvenile sunkist orange shrimp and they haven't quite figured out the feeding dish but I was surprised at how fast they realized the lolly was food and latched on. Since they are newer and young it is good to see them eating something so quickly and easily. These are a little pricey but worth it to me. I usually give them once every few weeks as a treat. I realized the other day that these sticks provide an added bonus of being able to see if my darker colored shrimp are carrying eggs. I have a tank full of black rose shrimp and it's nearly impossible to see if they are berried the way you can with red/orange/blue shrimp. I noticed one of the bigger females fanning while she was on the stick eating and with the way the stick was positioned I was able to see up the underside of her skirt to find that she was, indeed, carrying eggs. Hooray! So not only do these allow you to check by having something the shrimp swarm all over, but it also allows you to see their underside to check for eggs as well.

The one food I feed my shrimp that allows me to see them in a few seconds!
I have to say this is a good item just for the show you get once you put it in the tank. I have many different shrimp and they all LOVE it. My plecos and guppy's also munch on it. It's usually stripped clean in about an hour. It might not be the best bang for your buck compared to the other shrimp food but it's great for putting on a show and getting all the shrimp out of their hiding places. I'll be buying it again.

My shrimp didn't care for them too much
I bought the algae 'flavor' and was very excited to put into my 10g neocaridinia shrimp tank. Unfortunately, my shrimp had almost no interest in them, just their normal food and natural algae in the tank. I put it in mt 40g that has a few amano shrimp as well as some algae eating fish, but again there didn't seem to be a ton of interest, and the algae eventually just fluffed up and then floated off in the filter current. I then gave the packet to my boyfriend for his neo shrimp and they seemed to be a bit more interested in the lollies, but definitely not to the point that we would probably re-order.

Best food for Shrimp
Now if they had a name for each color of stick, it would be perfect. they liked them all, but the black ones seem to attract the most right when it is put in the tank. the others they just come here and there and take a little nibble and off they go. Black or dark colored one is the one they will stay on till it is down to the wood stick.
