Good product
Very nice bed for the price but it takes pretty much skill to assemble. Very sturdy and a great size for children. Worth the money.

Very Sturdy, Nice Bed
Very sturdy bed, and it looks great when it's all set up. There are literally over 50 pieces to this bed, not including the bolts, screws, spacers etcetera. It's not terribly difficult to put together. My 8 year old put it together in 4.5 hours with minimal help from me to assemble the bottom frame. He just need me to hold up an end so he could thread the screws by hand to start, and I gave everything a final tightening when he was finished. Beware, it is extremely easy to cross thread the hex head bolts, so hand thread them before you take a power tool to assemble it. The hex head bolts are somewhat inconsistent in depth and shape, so the Allan wrench will slip out and strip the head if you aren't careful. My best advice is take your time, and don't try to rush putting this together, or you absolutely will damage either the threads or bolt heads. The bed comes with exactly the number of bolts and screws you need, there are no extra parts. If you lose a bolt in the carpet, or if it rolls into a floor vent, you are done. Finally, there is no way to get this bed through a doorway, and there is no way to disassemble it partially if you need to move it to another home or room without disassembling the entire bed down to the last bolt. Once the bed was assembled, I gave it a good shake. I'm a big man, I couldn't get the frame to squeak or rattle. I figured if it could hold up to a guy my size manhandling it, there isn't really anything the average child can do to it that would cause it to fall apart. The beds are rated to support 200 pounds. I couldn't sleep on it, but an average adult could if they needed too.

This bed is sturdy :-)
My purchase was: Twin over full. Yesterday I built this bed by myself except for my 7 year old son handing me the the metal slats that the bed lays on. It was fairly easy to build. I would have been done sooner but I ran into two obstacles. 1). The instructions didn’t say to have the holes on part “T” facing up (maybe that was a no brainer but apparently I didn’t think about it). Make sure that the holes on part “T” are facing up so that part “X” can be attached to it. I had to find my husband’s drill with the correct attachment to drill a hole for the screw because their was no way I was going to disassemble and rebuild. 2). I had such a hard time trying to get part “Q” onto all those slats 🤦🏽♀️. After having built this bed by myself and using ALLLLLLL of my thumb power to tighten all the screws and things I really thought that I was going to have to give up for the next day or two but my kids had their hopes set on it being done that day. I pushed myself to the limit trying to push part “Q” onto all of those slats. Let me tell you, that was quite hard. However, that part makes the bed more sturdy and I’m glad that that part is included. The bunk bed itself seems to be the most sturdy bunk bed that our family has ever had (I have 9 children ages range from 4-24 so we’ve been through some beds, lol!). My kids love it. This was a great purchase 😊

Nice project for You and the Family,
Wooow. This Set is nice, and fits our needs as far as having an extra bed for the Grandkids when they cum over. The top bunk is pretty high and I have 10 ft ceilings. Now I'm getting down to it. !st the weight; this was so heavy to lift and carry and after getting it inside, we decided to just leave on the first floor instead of trying to carry it upstairs to the bedroom. 2nd the assembly; I will say it wasn't difficult to assemble, but it is very challenging if you don't pay close attention to the provided instructions. For instance, The Hinges; When applying hinges to the futon part, make sure you stand in the inside of the bed and not the outside. the hinges have R for right and L for left, so I took the approach going at from the outside and once i thought I was done, turns out I wasn't. so I had to take apart the bottom swipe the hinges. Also pay close attention to the ladder assembly as well. you can easily install them upside down. (Side note) The ladder is very uncomfortable climbing up for an Adult. They hurt your feet standing on them or climbing up. I Can't really comment on assembly time, because we were watching football along with just taking our time. If i am giving a timeline, I would say we began about 5:00 and was done around 8:30ish, but there was no rush our part and it was 4 of us. 3 doing assembling and 1 bringing parts upstairs. It was cool. So maybe you and your family should give it a go, if this is the type of bunk bed set you need. Enjoy!!!!😃

Great bed for a GrEaT price!!
I ordered this bunk bed for my 10 year old son. The bed was in our price range and looked very sturdy. After purchasing I read reviews. And got scared!! People said it was extremely squeaky. People said it was very cheaply made. But upon delivery I must tell you this comes in an extremely heavy box. Each metal piece is very very heavy. It's very well made. My husband and I put this together in about 4 1/2 hours. We made sure all the screws were tight. And everything was secure. Please follow directions carefully. Bc we would get it together. And then have to unscrew and redo bc we used the wrong piece in the wrong spot. Each bar has a letter on it. Even if it has an identical one. These letters are important. We put some up and then realized we had to take back down bc it was wrong piece. Lol it's frustrating to put together. So please ask for help. I kept waiting on the "Squeaking" everyone had mentioned. But I haven't heard a squeak yet. And I've got 4 kids climbing all over it. I'm overly satisfied with this bed. It accommodates his room so well. The only thing that bothers me is how the ladder is placed. Once at the top of the ladder they have to climb way over the top of the railing. I'm sure it was made that way for safety reasons. But it's kinda hard for my kids to swing their legs over it. They've mastered it now so it's fine. But I wish it had a small opening in the ladder space so they could get in and out easier. Other than that this is a GrEaT bed for a GrEaT price!!! I'm so glad I purchased this!!!

Affordable solution. Easy assembly. Bed SQUEAKS terribly!!
The bed was easy to assemble. My 11-year old daughter and I were able to complete the entire process without assistance. There were no missing parts, but several of the pieces had damage to the finish. We were thankful to find an affordable solution for a bunk bed. The futon is a bit of a challenge to fold and unfold, but it does stay in place after each transition... although the handles fall off every time, which is frustrating. We don't fold and unfold the lower bunk on a regular basis, because of this hassle. We adapt. My biggest complaint, and one not to be overlooked: this bed SQUEAKS terribly! Every time my 80 pound daughter turns over or moves her legs, the bed squeaks. We have a cat that weighs about 10 pounds, and the bed squeaks, even when the cat jumps on or off the top bunk. It squeaked on day one, and now that we have had the bed for over 3 months, it still squeaks... we have become more accustomed to it, but I am still looking forward to the day when we can afford to replace these squeaky bunk beds! All bolts have been tightened, and several of them have just enough traction to hold the parts together (as I considered placing something between the metal parts that are rubbing together). I have been unable to isolate the joints where the squeaking occurs, as it seems to be coming from the whole frame. Infuriating! We also purchased another style from DHP, and it has the same squeaky problem. https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B00T2XF934/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_52 It is a very annoying flaw, both to the children who are trying to sleep, and to the rest of the household (although it does act as a sort of bed alarm, giving some warning when the kids are getting out of bed... you begin to recognize the squeaking patterns of ladder use or merely flipping over, while reading in bed).

The price gets five stars, even with minor flaws.
Please be aware that I am giving this five stars because I have searched in stores and online without finding a bunk bed this inexpensive that has the weight capacity of this one. I have a teen and preteen, so a bed with a 100 lb. weight limit is out of the question. This bed has a 200 lb. top bunk weight limit, so that alone makes it five stars for the price. However, there are a few very minor issues, mostly with the paint job, that might irritate someone who expects perfection at even this rock bottom price. For me, they aren't enough to deduct points from the product. I did not expect a $1000 bed for $160, so I was fine with the tiny flaws. There are a couple of spots where the paint just didn't cover well, and they look almost rusty. It's not the full-on, metal weakening type, but just bare metal, untreated look. They are near the spots the bed joins, so once everything was together, you don't even see them. The slats apparently rubbed together during shipping, and the paint on them is scuffed; again, it's minor, and it looks as though it happened during shipping. The slats were the only thing not individually wrapped, so the rubbing isn't even visible. The bolts do extend from the bed; they aren't flush with the metal. However, they are rounded and coated, so I don't see this as a problem, either. They are intended to be that way. One thing that irritated me a little is that one of the slats is bent. That seemed odd, because it's the only one and they were together in the box, so it seems like it was that way before shipping. It's not enough to affect the sturdiness of the bed. I put that slat near the head of the bed, so little weight will be on it, just in case. Now for the good parts. This bed is very sturdy, very heavy, and it doesn't squeak or sway. While it is very tedious to assemble, it is simple and the instructions are great. Everything you need is included in the box. The instructions say you need two people to assemble it, and that it takes two hours. I HIGHLY recommend that you get help with this, if you can. I couldn't, and I assembled it alone in about an hour, but it was a pain. One warning: the instructions say not to tighten the bolts until the bed is completely assembled, and I cannot stress this too much. DO NOT TIGHTEN THOSE BOLTS UNTIL THE BED IS COMPLETELY ASSEMBLED. I hand-tightened them, and had to take some out a bit, because I had tightened them too much, just with my hands. Update: I bought this in September 2015. In May 2018, it's still strong and sturdy, though squeaky. It has been a great value for me.
