Rachel Carson: Silent Spring & Other Writings on the Environment (LOA #307) (Library of America) Review: Must read - Amazing book. Very informative Review: An heirloom book, to pass down. - When I ordered the book, I possessed no idea that books were mad with such quality. The binding exhibits real quality, and the covering is all cloth and and the colour is nifty too. I am satisfied indeed. I recommend this book to anyone looking for an in depth read. It is no cheesy Star Trek novel.

A must read for all
Great Literary Work and a must read for everybody. Rachel Carson's research served was a wake up call for the World to the dangers of unregulated pesticides and the lack of research of their long term effects.

Sadly Relevant After All These Years
It was a compelling read when I was in college and my college age daughter has found the same to be true. It would be wonderful if it were simply an historic document, but it is as relevant today as it was when it was written.

Wonderful.

This is a wonderful book worth reading, after so many years, for how science has been turned into literature. As yielding as Silent Spring are the letters, articles and speeches that make up the second half. Having read the Sea Trilogy earlier this year I am sure that Rachel Carson will be travelling with me through life from this time on.
