Logitech G502 Proteus Core Tunable Gaming Mouse, 12,000 DPI On-The-Fly DPI Shifting, Personalized Weight and Balance Tuning with (5) 3.6g Weights, 11 Programmable Buttons, Fully Customizable Surface

I wanted to use this for quite some time before posting a review. I really wanted to do this one justice. So let's get into it.So the moment I pulled it out of the box I knew this was going to be something awesome.Right out of the box this mouse is futuristic looking, and fits the hand well. I used it for about an hour before I realized that there were weights you could add to the mouse. This turned out to be a great thing being as I didn't really like how light the mouse was(just didn't feel right.)You can customize the position of your weights.so if you like to have one side heavier than the rest you can do that. Personally I just took all of the weights and put them in ( it's already a very balanced mouse) and now it has that premium weight that I like.The claw grip style works really well here. It's comfortable, and the textured sides help keep your hands from slipping off of the mouse.My favorite thing about this mouse is the smooth scroll toggle. The little button directly below the mouse wheel toggles it on and off. With it on the mouse wheel spins freely with no tactile bumps and is smooth as butter. With the toggle in the off position it turns it into a standard scroll wheel with the tactile feedback you'd expect one step at a time.This mouse also has plenty of buttons for those that like to remap game functions to your mouse. I believe every key besides the dpi change button( located on the thumb rest) is changeable. Which leaves you with 4 extra buttons on the left side of the mouse and two different buttons on the scroll wheel( tilts left or right for alternate clicks) And one behind the smooth scroll toggle for a total of 7 remappable buttons. Great for just about any game type I can think of.This mouse was also a steal for me. $60 on sale.So the big question. If something were to happen to this mouse tomorrow, would I go out and buy another one?The answer is absolutely, this is a feature rich mouse. It's software works very well and is easy to use. The mouse looks and feels premium in the hand. Mouse is great. Looks good - especially that blue G evening time glowing on my desc - love it! Feels really good - perfectly sits in my palm. I had bunch of Logitech mouses from cheap once to most expensive like Revolution and latest one i got wasLogitech wireless Performance Mouse MX - i end up giving that mouse to friend as a gift - simply because it was bulky , heavy , did not feels right and when it comes to gaming - plain sucks! Now when we are talking about G502 Proteus Core - it is BEST so far of what Logitech has. PERIOD. I use it for gaming AND for internet browsing AND for office applications and it is perfect for all! It is responsive , comfortable , adjustable -( if you need to adjust - i never did ) - works out of the box WITHOUT any software download - simply Plug and Play! Sure if you like to tune it to serious gaming competition then you can download additional software directly from Logitech website - i did not need all that sophistication - it work just fine as it is without any additional twiking. Also just to share my own personal experience - i went to one of the largest local electronic stores and ACTUALLY TRY EVERY major mouse i read prior to in reviews online and YouTube - starting with famous Razor Mamba, Roccat Kone and ALL THE MODELS from Logitech - G502 so far winner hands down. I only hope that hardware would work long enough for me to enjoy it just like my previous mouse Logitech MX518 Gaming Mouse 1800 - it was awesome mouse that lasted me for years.P.S - at night time to keep my partner happy i use Noiseless USB Optical Gaming Computer Wheel Mouse 1600 DPI Super Quiet JNL-101K Black - also AWESOME mouse - still works after 4 month, i got myself two of this - one for my desctop to use it at night and one for my notebook - although wireless would be more convenient when it comes to notebook but so far cant find wireless mouse that would make me happy with both ergonomics stable connection and good traction and/or charge and while i keep looking so far this silent mouse satisfy my needs and makes me happy every time i use it - especially when it comes to library/evening study times.
