I bought them to try when sharing a sleeping space traveling, but use for swimming instead. I’m sure they help with sleeping as well! I can tell how muffled sound is, even in the pool.

I was desperate for something to muffle the sound of my downstairs neighbors dog that barks constantly. It was loud enough that I'd be woken up through any foam earplugs I tried. I can finally sleep again until I'm able to move out of here. Being a side sleeper, these are easily the most comfortable ear plugs I've ever slept in. They're flush with/recessed enough inside your ear that they don't get bumped around by the pillow when I toss and turn. I've only had one fall out once in the few weeks I've used these so far, while with foam plugs that was every other night. The wax plugs themselves are a bit finicky to use, if you press too close to the center as you're inserting them it creates an uncomfortable suction effect. But if you don't press close enough to the center it doesn't seal and block noise as well. Overall takes a few minutes to get these in properly vs a few seconds for foam plugs. The biggest issue is these are slightly tacky, which they need to be in order to stick inside your ears. They collect hair and lint during use and only stay reasonably clean for a few days, and there's no good way to clean them once they get dirty. If one falls out while sleeping it will most likely need to be thrown out regardless of how long it's been in use. The set of 3 here is a good way to try these out, but I'm definitely getting the larger pack next time

As directed, it does help to warm the putty in your hands as it makes it more pliable :) It takes a few times to get the placement in your ear correct; don't aim for plugging the ear canal, but the whole area around the canal instead. Think of it as more of a cover rather than a plug. These dampen the overall sounds but I was hoping it would help more for silence at bedtime for me. My main concern/issue is that the substance is sticky (which helps it adhere to your ear's surface)..it grabs and tugs at my long hair. Yes, I can put my hair in a ponytail but can't sleep with it pulled back like that. The best I can do to limit that is to do a side braid away from the ear as much as possible but strands still get stuck in :( This will work for me during the day, only.

Excellent product with effective noise canceling results. The plugs are very pliable, easy to use and the individual case for each pair keeps them clean and reusable.

I’ve tried so many. All the orange foam that worked sometimes but mostly not. Kits to make ‘custom’ plugs, which fit perfectly but didn’t work, pointed ones, round ones. Etc. checked on custom plugs from an ENT.. $250 Each ear. Then I saw these little blue balls of mountable wax. I bought the 3 pack, followed instructions and was able to sleep in the same room as my beautiful husband. Sometimes a little sound gets in but I’m able to use my finger to press it here and there and back to sleep. So far, these are my favorite after many years of tossing and turning because none of the others helped!
