Got tired of my 14 inch mattress taking up so much space from the headboard that I couldn't lean against it to read. So got this skinny mattress which looks much better on my daybed style bed. It is firmer than the big squishy mattress was. Took a few nights to get used to it but it's fine. I weigh 135 lbs and sleep on my side. Hip does not hit bottom. But wouldn't get it for anybody too much heavier. I did get a Bunkie board to put under it since the slats on my bed are a little skimpy. If I find I want more squishiness I'll get a topper and still be low enough to use my daybed as a couch. I've had Zinus mattresses before and have been happy with them. They puff up nicely and with no weird smell. After three days this one puffed up to about 1/4 th inch shy of five inches.

I never really write reviews anymore, but these mattresses absolutely deserve a chance. I can only speak to the 5 and 8 inch ones. I ordered the smaller size for a twin bed during the holidays when we had extra guests. It was a bit thinner than I had expected. More like a topper. But seriously the strength and support of that thing... you would never know. I loved it so much I replaced both of our children's twin beds with a new 8 inch mattress. They have slept soooo well. I had one who is on the spectrum and she has issues sleeping throughout the night. It's been crickets. I was actually just looking at these again because it's bedtime and I was thinking about swapping our mattress out as well. I think the only recommendations I can give, is go up to at least the 8inch for a child and perhaps a little more for an adult. They take a good full 2-3 days to max inflate and adjust. They will get there. Also, they are amazingly soft/hard all at once. My lower back is always sore but just laying on them is a huge release. You know when you lay down on the floor and it takes a little bit for all of your muscles and bones to adjust, but then it actually feels good. Imagine that kind of firmness, but soft and since it's like a memory foam it kind of has a give to support your shape as you move around. This was such a great purchase!!

Purchased for my 3 yr big boy bed. I have had a few nights on it myself and it’s pretty comfortable. Not sure how long it will hold up because I feel it is a little thin but works great for kids especially the price.

Added this to my daughter new bed frame and it was a perfect transition mattress from her crib mattress. Comfortable and she sleeps great. It expanded quickly once we got it out of the box.
