Hestated buying this cutter,Bought many silverline products over the years for the value. It's been hit or miss game with the brand. You can get good product for cheap sometimes, for the rest, you get what you paid for.I mostly buy good quality tools because they last longer and better designed, but there are always some tools I would only need to use once or twice in years. I buy cheap ones for these occasions. This is one of them.I'm really surprised for the performance of this cutter. Super clean cuts even on wired cable housing. I guess that 58HRC rating is actually real.Well, for 5 quids, gets the job done just the same as a 30 quid park tool does, you can definitely see a good smile on my face.

Solid tool, cuts through cables easily. Used it to cut a washing line and it was easy enough. The handles are comfortable. Very pleased for the amount I paid (£5.81)

Sturdy cable cutter for gear and brake cables

Good crisp finish on jaws, cuts cables very cleanly, have yet to cut outers, think it will handle that with no problem. Just slightly annoying to find these are identical to the draper cutters at twice the price. We will see what they are like after 250 cuts, but you can sharpen them and adjust the joint. Good value for money.

Have cut bicycle cables and small bore piping with these. Nice clean cuts.

This tool pops up when one searches for cycle cable cutters. However, the description does not clearly specify that use. For the uses listed is works great at a bargain price. If you want it for bike use bear in mind the following which contradictsvsome reviews. The cutter cuts brake/gear cable cleanly with ease, but crushes cable outers when cutting making them unuseable. That's the truth. It has second notch which though not specified I have assumed is a cable end crimping tool In that area it works to a point in that it's possible to get a ferrul on a wire but it will be crushed asymetrically. It will look ugly.So the bottom line is if you are looking for a general purpose thin wire cutter this is for you. If you want a tool for cutting bike cable outers you'll need to look elsewhere.

The cutters can cut the inner bike cables (the ones that actually do the operating), Cleanly and perfectly. For the outer tubing, they can be cut with these cutters but will leave them squashed at the end. i have been able to use a tooth pick and deem them useable but that was just for me, For normal use, 10/10, that'd be washing lines. those things.TL;DR Can cut bike wires but cleanly but the outer housing may not work for you.
