Despite the sweetness of this tale, real relatable issues are addressed and resolved. The emotions and challenges the characters face are universal and could easily be experienced anywhere. I was easily drawn into the emotions of the story which allowed me to be a part of the characters’ lives rather than a simple observer. This is always the hallmark of a good book for me. Expect to feel all the feels when you read this book - joy, sorrow, anxiety, love, and relief. Rose is the youngest of the Christner sisters. After the death of their parents, Rose and her sisters have been raised by their unconventional Aunt Bitsy. Bitsy and the family’s cats are part of the laughter and joy of the book. Rose is extremely timid and carries a overwhelming sense of guilt about her parents’ death as well as the fallout from a second childhood trauma. She is also overwhelming kind and sweet. As a result, Rose’s family is overly protective of her. Frequently shielding her when they should not. Josiah is one of the sister’s neighbors. He has been in love with Rose since the death of his mom four years earlier. Understanding Rose’s extreme shyness and anxiety, Josiah’s plan to woo Rose involves years of slow progress. Josiah continually encourages Rose to tell him what would make her happy but Rose’s fear and anxiety make it difficult for her to do so. There is an underlying mystery that runs through the book (and the series) of someone who is targeting Rose’s family with escalating vandalism and Rose appears to be the main target. These acts crank Rose’s fear up but also bring Rose and Josiah closer together. On the way to their HEA, Rose has to learn to face her fears and past traumas so that she and Josiah can learn to find balance and find their way to a loving, respectful, and faith based relationship. I enjoyed this series so much and am sorry that this book marks the end. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Sweet Romance *by D***S on Reviewed in the United States on October 12, 2016* Because of events from her childhood, Rose Christner has always been the shyest of the three Christner sisters - preferring to take care of her beehives, paint, and bake rather than deal with people. She would be perfectly happy to spend her life this way but her happiness is disturbed by someone who keeps vandalizing the Christner's property and the vandals seem to be specifically targeting her. Josiah Yoder is more than willing to protect Rose for the rest of his life (if he could be so lucky) but is Rose ready to let him into her heart?“Like a Bee to Honey” is the enjoyable third book in Jennifer Beckstrand’s Honeybee Sisters Amish romance series. While I really liked the first two books in the series ("Sweet as Honey" and “A Bee in Her Bonnet”), “Like a Bee to Honey” turned out to be my favorite book in the series. At first I wasn't sure I liked Rose - she was a bit too timid (or so I thought) but Beckstrand does an excellent job of developing Rose’s character in this book. Beckstrand slowly reveals past events in Rose’s life that makes Rose a complex character who is much stronger than she realizes. Her story is poignant and moving. I also love Josiah's character - he loves Rose and wants to protect her but slowly comes to realize that he doesn't always know what is best for her. Their romance is well done and I just love what Beckstrand does with the two towards the end of the book (go Rose!). As there is in the other books in the series, there is a great deal of humor in this book - not only with Aunt Bitsy (who I think deserves a romance of her own) but Josiah’s repeated attempts to repair things in the house (I am chuckling just thinking about it). All of this adds up to a very enjoyable book to read.“Like a Bee to Honey” is an enjoyable Amish romance. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The series overall *by M***C on Reviewed in the United States on March 4, 2017* I will not lie, I really did enjoy this last book even thought he beginning was a tad slow for my taste. I really appreciated the ending and Rose and Josiah's story. I enjoyed seeing Rose grow as a person. Of the series as a whole, I thing that the Huckleberry Hill series was definitely not topped by this and although I had plenty of laughs and "aw" moments, it didn't quite come up to par with the original. I felt like Mrs. Beckstrand was grasping for good conflicts between the characters and that insecurity was her go-to which could be a bit frustrating when if the character used common sense, things would have been resolved. Despite this though, the series was enjoyable and I do not regret reading it one bit. I couldn't bear to give it a mere four stars for the fantastic writing, the hilarious moments, and their wonderful Aunt B and the equally wonderful male leads in this series.
