Fantastic product at a really good price. I was able to process 20+ bags of woodchip in no time at all and the blades still seem sharp. It's easy to use and not as loud as you would think. Very sturdy unit despite it's relatively light weight. Had a minor issue with the locking knob on our unit not fastening fully. The aftersale service from Aivolt was amazing! They replied to my email within 12 hours and talked me through possible causes and repairs. Once everything was tried, it was deemed that there was a minor fault on my unit and the issued a refund straight away. Fantastic customer service and I won't hesitate in ordering another Aivolt once I need it.

This shredder is the second AIVOTE2500W shredder I've had the pleasure of purchasing. While it has proven to be an excellent machine, I have encountered a minor issue: the blades tend to remain sharp for about five bags before they start to lose their edge. Although the shredder continues to operate, it does put some strain on the impressive 2500v motor. One drawback I've faced is the difficulty in finding replacement blades on Amazon. In an effort to solve this, I decided to invest in a sharpener, which I hope will extend the life of the blades. It's important to note that all blades will eventually require sharpening, but I believe they should also be readily available for purchase. Another feature worth mentioning is that the blades are reversible, so you can simply turn them around to maximize their use. Overall, I am absolutely delighted with this unit, which is why I chose to buy a second one—though I haven't unboxed it yet—blades should be made available for purchase. Also, the blades are reversible. I mean, just turn it around, not at the back of the blade. I am happy with the unit and have bought this second one, which I have not opened yet.

A great little shredder which is easy to move around and light but powerful. It produces a nice fine mulch that can go on the compost or directly onto your flower beds (see photo). It comes with 2 collection bags which handily for over the top to keep it dust free. The cable is a really good length to, far better than the Bosch equivalent.

If I could give zero stars I would. It worked fine for 20 minutes. Then stopped completely. I was using it on branches that were smaller than the maximum specified value. I though maybe it was a thermal cutout, but waiting solved nothing. The blade and chute were not blocked, and the fuse had not blown. The hand screw for opening the top was poor quality. It was hard to open, and then would not close properly. The thread on the screw or bolt is probably damaged. Unfortunately I left using this too long and missed Amazon's return window. I might open it up to see if i can spot something obviously wrong with it, but I am reckoning this is going to the recycling centre where it belongs with all the other electrical junk.

I absolutely love this aiVolt product, and with the rise in storms, it’s come just in time. The axel came bent and I thought it would take ages to get a replacement, but the After-Sales team was superb: they responded to my email within 24 hours, sent out a new axel 3 days later and emailed to tell me so, and I had my replacement within the week. They even followed up with a “did you receive the axel” email. Honestly, superb. The size of the chippings are ideal and I’m using them as ground cover/weed suppressant. The mouth of the chipper handles branches cleverly and doesn’t allow you to put in branches that are too thick. I was amazed that it handled larger branches with the same if not better ease and speed than the finer ones. Not too loud—just the wood makes it loud. Instead of using the bag it came with, I just parked the chipper over my wheelbarrow. Perfect.

On the first use of this Garden Shredder, it worked perfectly and shredded two bag fulls of my buddleia tree. However there was a problem with the threading into which the upper housing knob was screwed into. Firstly the knob would not undo fully and when I finally managed to undo it, the knob would not fully tighten up again which meant the shredder would not work. When I reported this problem, the only resolution was to return it for a refund, which I did. The refund was back in my account immediately so thank you. I will be reordering very soon.

I returned this item. It didnt shred properly. I bought this to recycle the plants and make my own fertilizer but it didn't do the job. And it was very noisy. However the company emailed me and reassured that they will try and improve their product and service. I changed my rating to 3 stars because the seller responded well to the concerns. They offered full refund to this item but I already got refunded when I returned the item. Thank you.

Absolutely awesome piece of kit. Purchased as I had to take down some trees in my front. Surprisingly light but a front gardens worth of branches in a couple of hours. 2 collection bags included. This was brilliant as I could utilise the shredded material as mulch. Highly recommended

Used it several times since the summer - that little chipper works amazingly well for it's size ! I just find the motor too loud ... but one gets used to that. Also learned, that it is not too friendly on one's electricity bill. So, I just used it when the rates are lower .... ! However, the Mulch is terrific !!

Exceeded my expectations! I bought this to deal with a massive pile of leafed branches from a major pruning job on an out of control laurel hedge. Cutting that up for the green bins would have taken several weeks of cutting pieces small enough to effectively use the 2 bins a week we are allowed to put out for pickup. The unit came yesterday and with a half day’s work the job is done. Setup is easy. No significant mechanical aptitude required. Once set up it is easy to operate and it takes only a few minutes to learn how to use it effectively.. I avoided going for the absolute max size branches it is rated for but I threw everything else at it and it handled it all. Even though the cuttings were fresh, so lots of green leaves with high moisture content still attached, there were no problems with jamming. The only intervention I had to make was cleaning out the blade chamber when the chip pile in the catch bag got so deep it blocked the exit chute and caused a backup. (Operator error. It is necessary to keep an eye on the output.) The processed material I piled for later use as mulch so that also solves the recycling issue. All in all I am very impressed with how useful this little unit is in the home garden and I am happy to recommend it.

The cutting blades broke off while in use. The housing flew apart and and you can see parts of the blade on the and the fourth picture it’s imbedded in the housing.

This thing is great! I had a bunch of tree trimmings that I thought would be better off as yard mulch. It handles small branches and twigs easily. As long as you're not jamming it full of wet leaves or trying to run logs through it it works perfectly for the average home owner in the city. I jammed it once (totally my fault, crammed it full of wet pine branches) and it took less than five minutes to clear it and get it running again. It has a small foot print as well, which makes storage easier.
