is this good for chocolate?

No. It will cause the chocolate to seize. Chefmaster does make an oil based food coloring which works for chocolate. Must be oil based or powdered.

Will this works for fondant?

Yes....my daughter has used many colors when dyeing fondant she's working with.

Is chef master better than colour mill?

I do not know about colour mill but these are really good colors.

How long do they last? Expiration period.

Hey, they say that you can use it several years after the expiration date. It also states that it doesn't contain no ingredient that can spoil.
