Tasty, yet fine particles seep through bag
This is very tasty tea with a nice roasted flavor. My only complaint is that there are excessive tea leaf particles that end up in a prepared cup of tea.

Good hojicha
I like the taste of it. It also uses a notch above quality tea bags, they don't taste (typical, kinda yacky) paper teabag smell, also the little "hook" they give you will let you keep the tip of the string at fingers reach instead of loosing it into your tea cup with rest of the tea bag :)If you don't know what I'm talking about, just buy one and find out!

Favorite of my less-caffeinated teas
Hoji-cha is green tea (often leaves from late in the harvest) that has been roasted (vs. steamed for the typical sencha green tea). The roasting process browns the leaves as well as some of the more astringent flavors, leaving a mild, reddish-brown tea. The process also reduces the caffeine to about half (or less) of the average sencha green tea. I can have hoji-cha in the afternoon without affecting my sleep the way sencha does.As far as flavors go, hoji-cha lacks the sharp, crisp flavor that I like in sencha. It has an earthier taste, which is particularly soothing. Itoen is one of the biggest tea producers in Japan, and their bottled teas can be found everywhere at convenience stores and train stations. While mass-produced, the quality of the tea is pretty good. It's very affordable as well. My only complaint is that the packaging to preserve the tea bag's freshness is a bit much from an environmental point of view. I hope that the producer switches to recyclable packaging in the future.

My favorite tea brand!
Love itoen teas and all their bottled onesโ I usually drink their green tea but was craving something a little stronger. I love hojicha and this has a deep flavor. Perfect ratio with a cup/mug full of water (about 10-12 ounces). I love the tea bag shape and type of mesh used. Highly recommended!

DO NOT BUY | hard to pull string from stash
The tiny paper at the end of the string is attached to the small tea bag and if you are not careful, you tear the tea bag. Whoever came up with this brilliant idea? Believe me, every time when you try to separate the paper from the tea bag, you will shake your head and wonder why you didn't buy other brands.BTW - the taste is not as good as Yamamoto tea bag's.

Just ok
I personally love hoji tea. But the package came in like not fresh at all. Seems been for a while. Loose leafs are leaking from the bag.
