Has anyone walked a mile or two with one of these?

Yes, absolutely. That said, be aware that an iWALK2.0 can never be as efficient as a human leg, so the effort to do distance in an iWALK is greater than normal human walking. The most recent long distance walk that comes to mind is a man who was an amputee and had committed to do a charity walk of two miles, but was derailed due to his amputation. He used his iWALK2.0 to keep mobile while he was waiting for his leg to heal and be capable of using his prosthetic. As part of his training, he walked long distances in this iWALK20. He was fitted with his prosthetic and was able to complete the charity event, even though it was on the first day of having his new prosthetic. His doctor, in 25 years of fitting prosthetics, had never seen anything like this, and attributed the feat to the work he had done with the iWALK2.0. There are numerous accounts of people doing longer distances such as 10k's, long hikes, etc. Again, to be fair, it will require more effort than normal, but it is certainly doable, as many have proven.

Does this have to be removed when you go to the bathroom? It seems like it would.

From the manufacturer - typically the answer is yes, you do need to remove it- HOWEVER, 1. After a day or two, most people take 10-15 seconds to put on / take off the iWALK (your first day you won't believe this is possible, but you'll see - it really is IF you're using the straps correctly). 2. After you're proficient and confident on the iWALK2.0, for short trips, don't strap in - just use the handle to keep the crutch in contact with your leg and to stabilize it. It's really easy and quite convenient.

I have a removable boot as my cast due to a ruptured achilles tendon. Do you know if it is comfortable with the boot on?

From the manufacturer - the answer is definitively yes. As many have mentioned, if the boot is partial height, and does not run the full length of the crutch knee platform, then you will want to build up the are in front of the top of the boot with additional foam, or a folded hand towel or similar. This isn't always necessary - it depends on the thickness of the boot, but it generally results in greater comfort. Build up the area higher than you think you should, then try it, and reduce the thickness until you find the most comfortable, functional height. Remember to keep the straps tight - this is essential to have the best control and efficiency from the crutch.The only situation that can cause problems is with some air boots, which have inflation bladders positioned on the front of the boot. These can overinflate during use (but this isn't always the case). If yours does this, then the bladder can either be disabled or you can use a different boot. Hint - make sure the knee strap is tight - if the knee cannot lift during gait, the bladder won't pump air.Additional foam with peel and stick adhesive can be purchased from our website, but a folded hand towel works just as well, and it's free. Just remember to start too thick, then reduce the thickness until it's optimized.

Too short to use it can they make shorter ones? I’m 4’11
