Drawings to asses the patient's emotional status....
The title of this book received my attention rather quickly, as I have a close family member with symptoms of dementia. Evaluating the patient's drawings (which can also be just scribbles) can assess the person's potential need for further treatment. By the way, I saw this book and purchased in on Amazon. As an Art Therapist, I recommend this book, as it is extremely informative & useful.Rosalie G. Schoenfeld, ATR-BC

So true
I bought this book as Carly Marchant is a relative of mine and she has a paper published in the book, however having read the book it is an inspiration for people who have relatives with Dementia as well as patients, i am going to recomend it to my friend who's mother has Dementia, i am sure she will find it very helpful getting the right support for her and her family. I truly beleive in this book and would not hesitate to recommend it. Well done the authors and all who participated. Janet (Surrey)

The Creative Arts in Dementia Care
Through focusing on creativity as an important aspect in Dementia care, Jill highlights the all important fact of dementia that, although the intellect may have lost its plasticity, it may literally have been mislaid, intelligence is operating. Extraordinary expansion of quality of life can be witnessed by encouraging the empowerment that the creative act can generate. Too often dementia care is reserved to maintenence of the functioning body rather than the enriching expressions of intelligence. Jill proposes in some detail, embracing and encouraging various forms that intelligence may take where and when appropriate conditions are provided. This is a compassionate book.Mike BoxhallThe Empty Chair - The Teaching not the T.Shirt
