Really caught me off guard with the quality there - and I expected it to be smaller than it actually is, so I was pleasantly surprised (it's the perfect size for a desk or your shrine; does not look/feel cheap). The levitation of the helmet is for real, thanks to a crafty electromagnet (just plug it in); and it's a piece of cake to set up. Again, way better than I expected. As is stated in some of the other reviews, the helmet would just stick to the top of base. One call to the company though and they squared everything away. There was not a bit of hassle or questioning of my problem. The gentleman (Joe) on the phone set up for one to be shipped out to me that afternoon. So in the mean time, I have placed a small fishing lure in the helmet to help keep it floating. It is a little tilted but for the interim, I am OK with it. This really is a cool product and as a Maryland fanatic, I don't think there is anything more unique right now or as cool as this. If the new one works well, I may get another for my son's bedroom as a night light. I received the Penn State version for my Birthday and I love it! I was happy to see that when the power was turned off the helmet simply attached to the top magnet, instead of falling to the ground. I was a little worried about that in case of a power outage. It is a great conversation piece and the light really accents the helmet. I am considering getting a case as well.
