A Fine Wine For Fine Times
I must have looked at or read about this wine several dozen times before finally deciding to take a leap and buy it. Needless to say I am very happy I did as I discovered a very special and very tasty red... The most obvious thing you will notice is the bottle itself is made from thicker and more sturdy glass than your "normal" 75cl bottle. Even empty the bottle is pretty heavy however (full) it screams quality - I'm not even sure why, its just somewhat reassuring to have that extra weight in your hand - it feels better and looks better. I imagine however most people do not buy a bottle of wine just to "look" at it, the proof is in the taste and Primitivo will not disappoint. What you will find here is a very distinctive flavour with a complex (and slightly sweet) balance of cherry, spices, vanilla, chocolate as well as several others which are slightly more suitable for my pallet. The nose is equally as complex but it is pretty full bodied with a good finish (especially when aired a bit). All things considered it ticks all the right boxes for all the right reasons - it would be ideal with red meats, savoury dishes, foods with a lot of different flavours or just to enjoy by itself. In terms of value for money this is the most enjoyable wine I've found to date at this price so again I have no complaints. If possible try and buy the 2014 vintage as it rates slightly higher in professional reviews. However the chances are that any vintage of this wine will bring a smile to your face.

Elegant sexy fine wine
I was disappointed when i received the 2016 vintage instead of the 2015 but costumer support was excellent. I chatted with Theresa from customer service which sorted out the issue immediately speeding up my next order of the same wine. This is an exceptional wine with plum jam and cherry flavours. A long finish and full bodied wine which deserves 5 stars. No matter what the critics say if a wine is fine and you enjoy it then this one will far exceed your expectations. Don't take my word on it.. Try it out, its wine o clock!

Not bad but...
This is a decent wine but at this price point there are so many alternatives out there. In terms of value for money, I would say most Portuguese wines will beat this one easily.

Beautiful wine, beautifully presented
Firstly - presentation of wine is important. The presentation is the first thing we see, and we can't help but feel a winemaker who has crafted the packaging with care may have crafted the contents with care. Not always the case of course - many exceptions, but this is not one. The glass is really thick - when the bottle is empty it has the weight of a standard full bottle. This gives it a premium feel and is truly excellent. This is a Primitivo - which let's be honest for must of us just means Zinfandel! As such the wine is slightly on the sweeter side, but the the big bold 14.5% alcohol somewhat tempers this off. Nose is intense - certainly pepper, maybe some chocolate and dark fruit. More dark fruit and a little woody on the palette. Dark cherry too. Big long finish and very smooth. This is the kind of wine which could start to convert people over to Italian wines, truly beautiful.

Fantastic wine but Amazon are mis-selling!
This is a fantastic wine, however amazon are mis-selling due to the fact they are advertising Vintage 2015 and in-fact sending Vintage 2016. Please be aware, my bad review is purely based on amazons mis-selling. This is the third time i've had this issue now.

Hands down my favourite wine on the planet!
I've had the pleasure of tasting some excellent wines over the years, however this trumps them all which surprises me given that I have French heritage... (Not usually open to other territories). Excellent flavour, excellent depth, excellent everything.

Lurvely
Love this wine, first had in restaurant in Edinburgh, £45 a bottle and fell in love… Desperately tried to get more for a Xmas and managed to find on Amazon. Subsequently purchased 5 bottles and enjoyed far too much alcohol over the festives.

Have yet to find a red wine as good as this
I am a big fan of quality red wine and. Have yet to find a red wine as good as this, it is by a country mile my favourite red wine and although a tad pricey, it's well worth it.
