The Complete Fat Flush Program
T**N
CAN'T ARGUE WITH SUCCESS
I don't write a lot of reviews on Amazon. As I have stated in previous reviews, I only write reviews on STUFF I can REALLY get behind. This is such a review. To start off, I am a GUY. If you told me 3 weeks ago that I would take precious time to write a positive review for a diet plan-- I would've cried from laughing so hard. Here's the facts: I was diagnosed with hypothyroid disease 14 weeks ago after putting on 77 pounds in about (3) years. I was 277 and that is WAY too much-- even for a big boned 6' 2" ex-football playing man. At the beginning of this weight gain I didn't go to my General Practioner-- I went to a dermatologist because my skin was itching badly. So there were steriods shots and pills and steriod creams and lethargy-- and, all the while-- as I blew up like a ballon at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, I thought, "It's the steroids."Two years later-- after basically starving myself down to 262 pounds-- I finally decided I was going to take control of my body and I went to my regular physician to get the "OK" to go back to the gym. The man took one look and said, "You have a thyroid problem!" (Funny how 5 dermatologists, 2 Physician Assistants and 4 nurses-- all at the same clinic-- NEVER diagnosed this condition-- and I walked into that clinic almost 90 times in three years!)I started on the thyroid medication (after the proper blood tests) but wasn't experiencing the "dramatic weight loss" promised by my doctor. Turns out, my medication wasn't calibrated properly. Turns out it is STILL not calibrated properly! (It can take a long time, shifting between thyroid dosages to find the exact level.)Anyway, after 9 weeks of no weight loss, a friend told me about the Fat Flush Plan. I thought, "What the heck, let me give my body a kickstart-- so I'll be ready when the medication finally does kick in.Yes, I had to read the book. Yes, I had to spend money to buy different stuff to eat. Yes, both of these efforts took time, significant cash and a dutiful amount of planning to set up. But I figured, if I am going to do this, then I am going to do this right. The beginning of the first week was "OK"-- but I knew I was going to start climbing the walls (I just had a feeling) and about 5 days in I did. It wasn't that the food was bad at all, I just wasn't eating the ALL the foods I wanted! My other problem was, I was weighing myself every day. I know that's a diet "no-no" but I wasn't used to being overweight-- and certainly not overweight from a medical condition that was hindering any weight loss. Then something truly miraculous happened. About day seven, I lost (3) pounds, then (2) more.To make a long story shorter, by end of WEEK 2, I had lost 5 1/2 INCHES OFF MY STOMACH.End of week 3 is today. I haven't had time to check my stomach by I have moved from XXL shirts to LARGE shirts in 21 days.I have lost 21 POUNDS in 21 DAYS.I have yet to see the INSIDE of my GYM.I feel GREAT. My clothes are fitting again and people DEFINITELY notice. And my medication is still NOT calibrated properly and I have a disease that turns muscle to fat.I feel like I have learned how to eat properly all over again. And the reservations about the food? Well, that was just me having to get used to the whole "lifestyle" change. I have and now it is all VERY easy.Try this-- STICK TO IT and you'll find your variation of "21 in 21" to be one heckuva motivator!

Very sensible weight loss and maintenance program
I followed the diet strictly for Phase 1 and lost 10 pounds and at least 3 inches from my waist and hips. My face got noticeably thinner as well. It was very difficult the first few days to give up salt, but my tastebuds adjusted and now I really enjoy the food. Giving up the fat was not hard at all. I have to use Stevia to sweeten the cranberry water though.I would not recommend buying this book without the cookbook. The recipes in the plan book are very limited and she has actually added some "legal" spices in the cookbook that improve the flavor of many of the foods. The easy bake salmon is a family favorite. My two little children did not really enjoy most of the recipes (I have made about 20 of the different recipes...you end up doing lots of cooking). My husband liked them but added salt and pepper to everything. I think she should add more ethnic dishes (some Thai dishes use all the right spices). It isn't that difficult to adapt some of your favorite recipes to the plan's requirements. The hardest thing about the plan is carving out the time to shop and cook everything. I work full time and have children, so spending hours in the kitchen is not on my "to do" list. Barbecuing a bunch of Limey chicken and eating it over bagged salad with the Fat Flush dressing ended up being lunch, and a sort of "convenience food."I am starting week four and plan to stick with the diet until I get to my target weight. But I also feel like the best benefit of the process is not just weight loss but realizing the way that I need to eat for my health. I have experienced a big change in my energy level and I attribute that to cutting out sugar and wheat. I like the experimental part of this diet where you add back foods a little at a time and track how your body responds. When I do make it down to the weight I desire it will be so easy to know how to maintain it!

The best thing I've ever done for myself!
This is the best thing I have done for myself------EVER! In the first two weeks I lost 11 lbs. I still have a ways to go, but I feel wonderful and it's a great motivator to keep going. Even if you did this program and didn't drop any weight it's worth it because you will feel GREAT! I have more energy, my skin looks better, and my aches/pains are gone. In the morning I used to wake up groggy, but now I wake up and I'm ready to go! I have an infant so sleep is a rare commodity and even though I'm up in the night I still feel way better than I did before starting the program. I have recently become very concerned about all the toxins we put into our bodies and this book explains how they interfere with your body systems. I really like how the book explains the what, why, and how of nutrition. It's going to help me make better choices for my baby also. I want to take steps to limit her exposure to toxins and have her grow up eating the right foods.I guess I've been eating all the wrong things over the years. This is a life changing program. It's not a quick fix, but it teaches you how to eat to feel great and keep the weight off. I found it very easy to get started after reading the book. It's very easy to read and has clear instructions. The supplies were easy to find online or at my local health food store. Initially it seems more expensive, but it's really not. You will end up buying different groceries than you used to buy. I don't feel like I'm spending more I'm just buying way different things.I have tried many programs over the years including Atkins, the Zone, Weight Watchers, Slim Fast, etc. and lost weight just to gain it back. This is the first time I have felt like my life is changing forever. Instead of living to eat, I will eat to live and feel wonderful! If you want to feel great and/or lose weight, try this!
