It lasts as well as a normal nail polish (few days) but I do a lot of manual work and I do have a parrot who likes to chew on my nails 😅 so you might get longer than me **Q: Does this allow water to get to the nail?** A: It allows air to get to the nail. I damaged my nails with UV and they are now recovering nicely with the use of this varnish. Good cover and chip resistant with about 3 coats.
