This is a really lovely cross, much larger than standard ones, so not really suited for a child. Having said that, I'm a very short woman and it isn't too big for me so... This style of crucifix is from the Eastern Orthodox Church. It's beautiful brushed silver with a good weight to it, and the detailing is fantastic. It has Russian inscription on the back meaning to Save and Protect. There is also a lovely wee pouch to store it in. If you want to purchase a good crucifix for yourself, or as a gift this is an excellent choice.

This cross is quite large and heavy so definitely not a subtle piece. I love the black colour of the cross and chain. The detail is very good quality, It feels sturdy and likely to last. Great for religious reasons or for a gothic fashion style.

For those of us with orthodox backgrounds and lineages, having a representative orthodox necklace brings back memories. The cross is a cast metal material measuring just under 3 inches long and 1 ½ inches wide. It is a good representation of the orthodox cross with the Jesus figure positions on the cross itself. It has a large hole for the chain at the top. The cross itself is a little heavy and at least for myself a little larger than I expected. But I really like the symbology of it. The chain itself is a beaded chain, it is stainless steel and is more than capable of holding the cross. With the purchase a lovely velvet bag is included to store the necklace. This cross is by no means dainty, as in my opinion should not be. Struggles of the faithful both past and present should always stand as a reminder of our lineage.

Great quality. I dont wear it as much as i used to but its a great size for me. The detail is pristine and Gorgeous as well.
