These are great!
I have killed so many organic life forms in my life, I can’t even tell you. These, however, were a big success. They thought of everything, so you’re not reading the instructions and realizing you’ve got 3 errands to run before you can play. I think it boils down to kick-ass service and lively spawn. Good Value When something is literally 20% cheaper than competing items, I get suspicious, but I gave these a chance. You actually get more stuff than a lot of other mushroom grow boxes, so you literally need nothing but water here. They were the exact same size as the ones that other companies make, and I definitely got two great harvests and sweet little third one. Chris & The Mush Love Hotline Chris literally emailed me, “Let’s talk on the phone.” Who does that at ANY company? He is as gracious and helpful as your favorite neighbor. I had a question about humidity levels and temperature, and he walked me through it all with patience, kindness, and genuine enthusiasm. (I was making things WAY too complicated; his reassurance was a hoot.) My absolute favorite kind of edible ‘shroom These are not your ordinary fungi. They’re showstoppers. The color is vibrant and they are delicious! They have a bunch of cool recipes. (They are SUPER for “vegan bacon.”) I’ve grown blue and lion’s mane now, thanks to these folks, and they are great, but pink oysters stole my heart. Their texture and flavor deserve a culinary spotlight, and honestly, I think they look like little blossoms. These pink ones work best when you can keep things warm, but even right now you can get an effortless couple of harvests at whatever temp you keep your house. Wildly Easy All you really need is the kit, a bit of water, and some TLC. Literally: spray a couple times a day, use the cool tent, and wait (the hardest part). The instructions are clear, the set-up takes minutes, and the joy of watching those first pins form is utterly addictive. You’ll tell your friends. You’ll send pics. You’ll grow more. There is something cool about serving them and saying, “Oh yeah! By the way, I grew these!”

Worked better than I could have imagined!
At first I almost gave up on them, ended up getting 4 different grows out of it and not only fun but delicious!

Not remotely the clearest instructions...
I've grown other mushrooms, like wood ear, in the past and I have to say the included instructions sound fun but they aren't nearly as clear as they think they are. They have "steps" and some of them are what you're supposed to do but they don't tell you a lot of the whys and wheres of what you're doing so some steps may not be necessary at all for you but you won't know that because they want it to sound fun. For example, they include a "humidity tent" but use some weird terminology about unfolding it like a book or something and then don't tell you when you'd actually need it. Many people won't need it at all but they don't tell you that. I don't yet know how well they'll grow because I spent 3 days trying to make sense of the instructions and then finally just got on youtube and watched a video from someone else who releases their own kits and actually understands what the end user needs to know. Oddly they didn't even include a humidity tent in their kit, as though it weren't necessary.

Excellent quality kits, but there are lots of damaged, expired, and uncolonized blocks.
These kits are really well designed and quality accessories are included. They're the best kits I've tried and I've tried almost every brand on amazon. Unfortunately, the two times I've ordered this kit both times the mycelium spawn block arrived severely damaged and with unhealthy mycelium. I don't know if its a problem in the amazon warehouse or if it is with the shipping carrier, but the first kit's block was dehydrated and discolored, with dead mycelium covering half of it, as if it never finished colonizing and then was left on a shelf in the dry for ages. The second kit's block was totally obliterated by mechanical stress. It wasn't a block so much as it was a bag full of loose chunks. There was no way to open it to rehydrate it and spawn from it, it would have all fallen out. So I'm sending my kits in for a refund.

Moldy
It grew mold rather than mushrooms. I doubt it was user error as another block of a different brand is doing well but you never know.
