When there is a large area of any color, that has subtle changes of color instead of a smooth transition of the color the monitor displays waves. The manufactures hype implies great color rendition. This is simply not true. The screen wants to renew the OLEDs occasionally. You are given the option to not do it, but I have found only about half the time will it accept a ‘not now response’. Once this process has started the screen goes black for what appears to be a random period of time. I have yet to have it recover on its own. You must press a button on the remote and wait for the screen to start displaying again. There is no power indicator on the unit. Which means you have no visual way of knowing if the monitor is on or off. When the screen saver engages, they tell you that a movement of the mouse will bring it back. I have not found that to be true. Only by pressing a button on the remote control will the screen recover. The recovery takes at least 10 seconds (doggedly slow). However, the monitor is pretty heavy, and the case is a little flimsy for how heavy the monitor is, making moving and mounting it a chore. The firmware has some issues and adaptive sync on my monitor via HDMI causes the screen to black out. Enabling HDR causes issues with color representation on the monitor. There's not many nicely sized 3840x2160 oled monitors, and even less so that have higher than "normal" refresh rates.
